Most of us have our favourites to win the World series right?
But I would like to know your opinions on which teams would win the Divisional series in each division

Much better question, play-offs are so unpredictable. I don't feel like giving my reasoning now, I'll probably do it later.

AL:
East: Yankees at this point slightly, then Rays, then Red Sox, any of these three could do it and not suprise anyone. The Blue Jays have a very outside chance despite being a good team. Losing Burnett is too much.

Central: Twins or White Sox, chance of Tigers

West: Angels, very outside chance of As, but you never know

Wild Card: Yankees, Rays, Red Sox, very outside chance of A's

NL:

East: Mets or (Pray not) Phillies. If the Braves got Burnett, I'd say it's possible, but now I
doubt it.

Central: Pirates.... Cubs really, possibly Brewers or Cardinals, doubtful but possibly the Astros or even the Reds.

West: Dodgers or D-Backs with the Dogers losing lowe and possibly furcal.

Wild Card: Mets/Phillies/Brewers/Cardinals

Pretty good guesses I think (although anyone would say that about their own).

I only follow Al East. Yankee's probally just bought the title with Boston and Rays going for wild card. Cownip was too nice thinking losing AJ was our, Jays, only problem going into next season. I'll say: yank, rays, bosox, jays, baltimore.

With a lot of trades and signings still left to be made it's hard to say at this point, so expect this to be edited a lot over the next few weeks. For now i'd say

AL East - Red Sox
AL Central - Twins
AL West- Angels
Wildcard - Yankees

NL East - Mets or Phillies. Whoever doesn't make it gets the wildcard
NL Central - Cubs
NL West - Diamondbacks
Wildcard - See NL East

AL East should be a lot of fun to watch. I think everyone is going to be rooting for the Rays as all other fans hate the Yankees and now more and more the Red Sox. I'd root for the Rays if I weren't on the team. Plus, the Yankees don't have a particularly likeable team right now. I mean their generally nice guys on the team, but no one besides Damon, Jeter, Jorge and Mariano with a particularly great personality. I don't mean kindness, I mean how good they are with the media, how quotable, ect. There's no Yogi, Ruth, Mantle, or Dimaggio type of figure on the team right now. How could you not like Yogi.

I'll go along with what's been said so far but I do want to offer an opinion...

Of course the AL East will be fun to watch, as it always has been. But I think both central divisions are going to be slaughterhouses, too. Especially the NL Central - Cubs, Brewers, Cardinals, Pirates, Reds - all of these teams have a chance at the division championship (unless it's a rerun of last year and the cubs run away with the title). I think the Cubs, Brewers, and Cardinals are going to be the major combatants, with both Pittsburgh and Cincinnati having an outside chance.

All of the teams have a chance at the division title in the AL Central, too.In the AL Central, I think that the Tigers will bounce back, probably not to the division title but at least 3rd place.

I only pay attention to the AL East. Bosox 1st, Rays Wild Card, Yankees third if Sabathia is a flop, Jays 4th, Orioles 5th.

I think the Rays are better then Boston, and I like the Rays too. Clearly not as much as you, but still. They have the perfect type of team and I love watching them. I want them to get the wild card. Plus, they did better this year and will get better once Price and other guys continue to devolop (mainly Price), while the Red Sox will only have players get older and out of their prime. I'm not doubting you have your reasons or anything or trying to criticize you, but what's your basis? Unless they get Texiera, and even if, I think the Rays are stronger.

St. Pete newspaper have done reports for this type of stuff people voted Sox came out on top even some Rays fans admitted. Clearly I'm a bigger Rays fan, I went to the game where they clinched East. Went to their first ever game as a Ray and Devil Ray. Have a David Price shirt, American League Champions shirt, Baseball signed by Kazmir, Wily Aybar and prospect Reid Brignac. You question me liking the Rays and you won't like the response.

The Rays are a good team, the Sox are a good team. Never question me my likability to the Rays.

What? Where did that come from? Haha, sorry mate, I think you misunderstood me. I said "I like the Rays too. Clearly not as much as you, but still....". There wasn't any sarcasm, it was a sincere statement. I'm sorry if I offended you or I did a bad job writing that post and made you think I questioning how big of a fan you are.
I saw a Ray's game last year too when I was in the area. It was a great slugigng game with the Rays vrs. the Orioles. The Rays won but the score switched back three times. Great game.
By the way, if I was a bigger Rays fan, I'd too get a David Price shirt. I actually thought about doing it, but I decided to get a Joba one instead. But don't worry, I don't doubt that your a loyal fan.

I agree we're no Rays by any means but I think we have some great talent with guys like Pedroia, Lester, Buchholz, Lowrie, Masterson and Ellsbury. Right now we have some guys between 30 and 35 (with Wakefield at 42) but they're still doing well and it's always good to have some experience on your roster. Hopefully Epstein will offload them when they stop delivering, although maybe Ortiz is on the decline but fingers crossed it was just the injury and that he'll be back to his old self for 2009.

I think with the AL East you can put the top 3 in any order and make a solid case. If people want to predict the Red Sox finishing third I wouldn't argue with it, i'd obviously like them to be wrong but we'll just have to see come september.
