1. Ability to edit players abilities in season mode during the season. Lots of times I find a guy that in real life is way better or way worse than his attributes in the game but no way to change it. Also I need to dock all Red Sox players several points in all categories just for being on the Red Sox roster.

2. Ability to control individual baserunners. This is for stealing and also managing running strategy for ground balls. I hate when you get caught in a rundown between second and third which turns into a double play because during the course of the run down you have to send your baserunner on 1st towards second.

3. Trading with no rules - to reflect real life (season mode). Ever try recreating trades that happened in real life? Most of the time they don't work. Better yet, online roster updates?

4. Team budgets reflecting real life economies of the clubs. When running the Yankees you should be able to spend more than the Rays without going broke during year 1 of a season.

1. that could be used to just make your players all A's, but I see your point.
2. You can, it's just complicated to (you have to specify the base with the joystick, then press left for wiimote/nunchuk ctrls)
3. That's been said quite a bit, but the trading system is troubled, but realistic (high price for speedy guys)
4. Yankees payroll is more around this: oo <<< infinity symbol
or this, in a way: :flush:

With No. 4, they're expecting the actual franchises to spend most of their money on players, but will leave some for the future. How many of you actually think the Yanks won't spend accordingly to their budget? Why would you settle for mediocre players when you can get much more? So, you've already lost the money, but, opposite of my post, I do understand what you're saying.

but by throwing money at FA's, they're just getting older...
on topic:
a throwback mode for success mode would be cool, seeing alvin and jonathan or *gulp* creak and morgan!

Who would win? Jonathan or Alvin? Jonathan, of course.

Since we've been requesting it, I'll put some of our good ideas right here:
    Online Play/ Wi-Fi
    Money Bonuses for Awards
    Female Characters
    CAP
These are just a handful, not all of our good ideas.

With those and true utilities, i would easily buy 09.

The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has it's own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of the mystery everyday. Never lose a holy curiousity

Actually, there is a pro baseball player in Japan who just signed who is a female knuckleball pitcher. So it is possible. The reason that we want females is not for realism but fan interaction. You will have girls and boys who like baseball and play it and the video game. My daughter is one who likes the game. When you build a character in success many people want to build themselves (maybe not literally based on ability but by name and look). If there is no female charater alot of girls aren't going to feel as much a part of the game. Why give away a fan base that could buy the game because sports has a gender bias. You never know maybe the girl playing will be the first MLB female and you just encouraged her to fulfill her dream by allowing her to play through the minor leagues.

uhm, that went over you're head, zero. But, seriously, why not? It would not take all that much effort to program. you could have a waiter, an actor, a doctor, a store clerk, a charity worker, and, instead of a sportscaster, you can have someone who plays the opposite postion, pitcher/catcher, infielder/1st, OF/cut man, starter/closer, etc.
