Just figuring...
otherwise, they would have released it a couple weeks ago...

I believe the new success mode will have something to do with managing a college team and trying to get all of them into the Major Leagues

That's not realistic. I'd like to see high school or an independent league. Someone brougth up little league as a joke, but it could work with some changes.

High school could be cool. Same with the Independent League or the Cape Cod League. Or perhaps Success Mode could start with your guy landing in the Japanese League (maybe he suffers an injury or simply loses his mojo) where he has to play his way back into the Major Leagues. You could befriend a translator, date hot Japanese girls and dazzle scouts, coaches and fans as you propel your team to the Japanese World Series. The game would successfully end when you sign a contract with your favorite Major League Team.

That would be cool. Weird, is saw a kid today in school with a cape cod league sweatshirt on . What exactly is it? Just an indp. League.

The Cape Cod League is an amateur invitational league for the top college players, and they use wooden bats, so it's a great showcase for talent. The stands are flooded with scouts and GM's preparing for the draft.

Cool, thanks. And, i've mentioned this before, but true utilities. If the guy can play 5 positions, make him able to play 5 postions!

Allow more than three positions for a Success guy. Maxed out hitters are common on here, and it would give you something to do.

I would like to see 7 levels of Trajectory. As it stands now, TRJ is a nonfactor in Success Mode. If I am creating a player and I want his TRJ to be 3, then I can only boost to 2 until Dr. Good Job either shows up or doesn’t show up. If I want my player to have a TRJ of 2 or 1, then I would have to restart if Good Job juices me up.

Also, the difference in performance between TRJ 1 and TRJ 2 is huge. It’s like going from Juan Pierre to Chase Utley. There should be more variety in the lower levels.

Agreed. 7 is a bit much. 5-6 would be better.

I think 7 would be fine.
Pink (7)
Red (6)
Orange (5)
Yellow (4)
Green (3)
Blue (2)
Purple (1)

Yay random! I just wanted to get the colors to work. Mr. Crayola says it would work.

I would be fine with 5 levels of TRJ as long as the new addition was applied between levels 1 and 2. The reason I suggested 7 was to create some harmony with the levels of break on pitches, to offer more variety, and create a legitimate penalty/reward for building a slugger/non-slugger as it would require a decent number of turns be used to practice and boost TRJ from 1 or 2 all the way to 5, 6 or 7.

Amen to this. It would definitley push me to buy 09.

I had this idea for Success at 1 AM last night, half asleep, so I have no idea how logical it would be.

You start out as a kid, a small kid with a dream. You play a game of softball with your friends (including Marvin, obviously) and fall in love with the sport. As you grow up, you move on from Softball (Elementary) to Little League (Middle) to real Baseball (High School) until you get a scholarship for a college team (similar to 07) and play through until the majors. Something along those lines. I just like long story modes, and since this is basically a story mode, why not?

Of course, the stats would have to be spread out a little better to make it harder to max out a stat. (For example, between 3-6 strength practices in 08 moved my Strength from E to B.) I guess you could say that my idea is to develop a baseball player literally from scratch. Just a thought from a half asleep video game nerd. XD

That's really good, and has been mentioned before, but would take awfully long.
