Cubs are going after Peavy. Now if Mark Cuban would just buy the stinkin' Cubs already, he could get anyone he wanted!

Also, where will Ken Griffey Jr. end up next year.

Griffeys an interesting one too. I would be very upset if the Yankees get Pudge. I really like Pudge, but that would mean Jorge was gone, and you don't need two all-star catchers on one team (Pudge is a hall-of-famer, but Jorge is better at this point in his carreer, he's been more durable). I don't think they should go for CC and Burnett, one or the other is fine. Here is how I see the rotation for the Yanks next year:
1. Wang
2. CC/Burnett/Lowe/Sheets
3. Joba
4. Pettite/Mussina
5. Ponson/Hughes/Aceves/Ransom/Chase Wright/Ian Kennedy/any other prospect.
I think that's an incredibly strong rotation. If you have musisina and pettite, then it is probably the best in the game. This gives all these rookies/young players/guys with potential a chance to fight over the fifth spot. Its not nearly as risky as leaving two spots like this year. I think at least one of these guys can start. I don't see them resigning ponson, but Its possible. Imagine, Joba, future ace of the Yankees, a number 3 pitcher. A guy with an ERA that could be under 3. Wow, a scary and exciting thought. And if they get texiera and their offense can hit anything like their capable of, well, if I were the Sox/Rays, I'd watch my back. Jesus the AL East is tough.
I personally would be furious if they went for peavy. That would mean no Cano, Cabrera, Hughes, and they might try to take Joba (that would be a deal breaker of course). I love Cano, he's still a 320-330 hitter despite 1 bad year.

If they get Texeria, i don't think they will resign jiambi though the had a good season. They might want to resign Pudge in case he doesnt recover in time. If Texeria hits 3, i think they would move abreu down to 5th with a-rod at clean up. Yeah, their line up next year would be scary, if mussina comes back and has another great year, with wang, cc, joba, mussina/pettite, hughes(i like him), i would see the world series go to NYY :)

Yeah, he was good, too. Hit 30-30 club, i believe. anyway, Werth played left during the year at various times, os it's not completely out of the realm of possibilty. Burrell just isn't a philly anymore, we all know that. We need a new left fielder, and that would probably be one of the best moves we could make thsi off-season.
PS. where do you think Burrell will go? Probably, wherever the most money and women are.

I don't see Abreu going to the Phillies. He clearly wants to be on the Yankees and will take much less money to be so. How do I know? He said it himself haha!
I pray the Yankees keep Abreu, and I got the idea he didn't like being on the phillies too much. How is one not a Phillie-like player? Any team would claim they have good morales, including me and my Yanks (its not a club standard, its just so many of them have their own huge charities).

rather than hit all the quote buttons, this is for everyone. Burrell is a free agent. He'll have to take less money to play with philly (and end his carreer here) because of payroll complications with Thome, and all the arbitration-eligilible players like Werth, Howard, Hamills, etc., that we have to resign, no matter the cost. He's not gonna sign for less. We need a new left fielder. The plan above could work. Burrell leaving would free up enough space for Bobby. But, hey, i can't blame him. the yanks have alot to offer. Philly has alot to offer too, though. Charlie is a players manager. He gets people. He spent alot of time with Manny back in cleveland, so people are looking for manny to replace Burrell, but that's a bad idea. Anyway, the of ain't broke, it's gone, apple. We need a replacement.

It wouldn't happen, but he would be just the guy to replace Burrell it he would just play. Philly won't take to him, and vice-versa. As previously stated, TO round 2.

I dunno what the heck will happen with Pudge, specially when Detroit is trying to get our rookie catcher Dusty Ryan some work in the Major Leagues. Ryan did a little work in September this year, and expect to keep him on the starting lineup next season. It's him or Inge and I really prefer Ryan over Inge, Inge does better at 3rd and OF so here's hoping for Ryan.

I wish Pudge the best of his remaining time in the Show, he had a career many have dreamed of and have never gotten (I had this dream, too) but, I wish him the best in life and a happy retirement if it comes to that.

I think Joba would be 4. Mussina had a great year. Don't go and say the Rays are going to be good now, take a look at the Rockies, WS loss, next year, no playoffs. Speaking of the Rockies they are looking to trade Holliday.

I am thinking the Sox may try to get Pudge, they need a catcher, badly. Their is no way Kevin Cash can be a full time starter....

Anyways, one good year doesn't make you a playoff contender next year, of course odds will say they have a chance at winning it all.
