Absoutly. From what i hear, and what i see in life, the draft picks stink (I don't play season, but might later). 20 years, and botht the save sclot increases are definites.

What about success mode? And I picked a realistic amount of save slots.

Being able to edit players in-season like in MVP 2005. If the draft picks blow then you could at least amp them up across the board.

The knuckler is too powerful so it should come with its drawbacks. First it should be harder to learn in Success Mode (make it RE only like ORIG), and catchers should be required to have a special ability Knuckle Catch (unbuyable, not obtainable from SoD and extremely rare) or else half of the time they suffer passed balls.

I think that may be a little to much. I think they should do one of two things though, either lower the effectiveness of a knuckler or have an ability (which is buyable in Success Mode and relatively east to obtain)) for a catcher to catch a Knuckler successfuly otherwise passed balls will be much more frequent (nothing like half the time). If they were to do the second, I belive that the last 2 or 3 levels of the Knuckler should be a little more expensive in Success Mode. Still, it is one of the best pitches in the game but it isn't THAT good. Plus, Wakefield shouldn't have a level 7 Knuckler as he isn't the best Knuckleballer of all time.

I like those idea, but also have gd/grt catcher make an impact on catching the knuckler.

Handling a knuckleballer is definitely something some catchers can do and some cannot but I wouldn't say it's that rare to find one who can catch it. Kevin Cash certainly just learned on the fly this year. Mirabelli got pretty great at it too and I don't think anyone would really consider him an above average defensive catcher otherwise. I'd say it should be an independent skill that costs a bit to learn. It's too freakish a pitch to just be treated like all the others.

Basically it has to be such that you can't stick a knuckleballer with some random catcher and expect to be successful, which is the case in real life.

Good catchers are not necessarily good at catching knuckleballs ex Varitek

it relates, though. It would only make a small difference in catching the knuckler too.

i like the idea of having the knuckle catch though.

Ability-wise, it doesn't. Gd/Grt Catcher is about calling a good game and having the trust of pitchers. The ability doesn't help them "catch" better in the physical meaning.
