Oh. Well there's still an answer to it. There's always an answer. No matter how stupid it may seem.

I can gurantee you its impossible. I looks at various possibilities going backwards from 100 and nothing comes close. Whoever gave you the riddle was either just messing with you, was a gerk and tricked you into spending hours on this problem, or were simply wrong.
Edit: Duh! Never mind, its actualy pretty simple and somewhat of a trick question all you do is:
Here's how you do it
7/.7=10 and if you do this for both sides of the equation, 10*10=100
(7/.7)*(7/.7)=100
Without the parenthesis, its wrong.

You have the numbers 7 7 7 7 and your supposed to put signs between them to equal 100. Apparently it's possible with 2 signs. I've been trying for hours and haven't gotten any closer.

DJ, was it a total of two signs or was it two different signs and you can use them as much as possible, because that would make cownip's answer either right or wrong.

Also, what was the exact question as written? Your intepretation may be misleading in actually how to solve this.

Also, great work cownip on coming up with an answer!

I don't think I'd call parenthesis a sign, so I think they count.

What I was referring to is that you used a total of 3 signs = 2 division and 1 multiplication. If the question was hard and strict about the number of signs being a total of 2, then this would be incorrect.

I think you did get the right answer, though. I was just wanting to know what was the original exact written question.

But you don't use the multiplication as a sign (7/.7) (7/.7)

See? The multiplications included. Apparently the way the teacher thought of it the decimal is a sign. 77/.77
