in flag football in school once, my best moment in PE, i opted out this year.
i was in 6th grade, by the way.

Here we go:
I was about 30 yards out from the end zone, and i get a screen pass. i run to the left sideline and juke out a guy. i make it to about the 7 yard line with no trouble, but then two guys close in on me from both sides.
I jump from 2 yards out, do a 360 through both of those guys, and land untouched with my flag perfectly intact in the end zone.
I have also been known to contribute on defense with a few interceptions and i can actually break tackles (real tackles) very well for my size.
not to brag, but i think i might try out for high school...

I thought this was about baseball stories...

Man I hope you will try out for High School Football.

Just to give you a heads up... It is nothing like backyard and flag football.
To start off they usually have hell week or weeks where you have double sessions (practice in the morning and at night). Some programs have triples I have heard. Sometimes the whole point of the double sessions is to separate the boys from the men. A lot of kids will drop out during hell week.

What I hated most about double sessions was not having dry football pants! Many of the guys only had one pair of practice pants so by the time the next session started up their pants were still wet with sweat. Some guys stuff started smelling like vinegar. I bought two other pairs before long...

I played flag football in junior high and honestly wasn't very good. I wasn't fast enough and didn't have the hands. With a helmet and pads on it was a different story as psychologically I felt indestructible.

If you are going to go for a position like halfback/tail back (what I played) then let me tell you... If you have heart you will find a spot on the team. For the line you need size, for defensive back and receiver you need lots of speed, as a running back size and speed matter but more importantly is attitude. If you are on the smaller size you need to think big... you aren't good at breaking tackles for your size you are good at breaking tackles period. Use your size as a reason to bust your butt. No one can tell you you are too small or aren't good enough. When you are running the ball and someone tries to hit you hard you hit him harder. Have it in your mind no one is going to arm tackle you and if they try they are going to come up empty. Have it in your mind you don't want any one of the grubby opponents hands touching you and break their ankles with your moves. Study and implement... Learn how to stiff arm, juke, high knee, make your feet quicker, block, and hold the ball properly so you will be your best and impress the coaches.

i'll probably play either tailback, wide receiver, or defensive back.

i wish i could get back on topic, but i don't have any more stories!
