Does anyone believe in this? For example people cuss and beat the crap out of the opposite team's fans. Does anyone agree in what these people do. I'm a Red Sox fan and I live in NJ where most people are Yankee fans so I don't beat the crap out of my friends (for that reason anyway). What do you guys think.

i don't agree with the over dramatization and overreaction of fans and players alike. true, baseball can be an amazing game that can either make or break spirits temporarily but to have hostile people fueled by brew in any situation is a recipe for disaster especially with families and children in attendance. imo some smack is ok as long as you back it up with facts and stats but in the end just let the scoreboard/game/standings do the talking. some of these rivalries actually remind me of gang members having it out because of what color jersey you're wearing or where you're from. make some noise, have a good time, enjoy yourself. just don't overdo it.

One of the reasons I'll probably never go to yankee stadium, or new yankee stadium for that matter.

I seem to get along with most of the yankee fans here though :)

I disagree may I remind them, it's still just a game. Having an arguement on whose better or something is fine.

this rivalry is overrated a bit, it overshadows other big rivalries like dodgers-giants, cubs-cardinals, and now mets-phillies.
