Well, what happened is we wanted to keep it around 10 minutes. But actually the ending wasn't the original one in the script and was much worse. So I thank my co-director for coming up with the final shot here.

Yeah, I can only imagine he's rather vexed at being downgraded from starring in a Napoleon Dynamite spin-off to a low-grade, small-budget cinema.
