Hard to believe this forum has been around for 6 years (22 Jan 2008 12:09am is the exact start date), so people in middle school who joined back then are heading off to college now. That's a bit mind blowing if you think about it, especially since I'm an old timer and 6 years doesn't seem like that much to me, but to school-aged people, it's a major block of time.

My gosh, this has been around a long time, now that I think about it. Don't know where I'd be if it wasn't for this forum.

I'm getting old.

I joined this board in Feb 2008. At the time I was 26, had been in a new city (charlotte) for about 4 months, had few friends, was living with 2 dogs and a woman for the first time, and wasn't having an easy time of it. I was working a job in a relatively new IT/healthcare field and was very worried I had made a wrong move. MLB PP and the forum helped me get through a tough time.

Now I've used that job to get a better one, working from home, making more. I'm married to the woman, but the dogs have both passed away. I have friends in the area, mostly from playing music or tennis or coworkers. I'm 33 as of March. I'm paying two mortgages, saving for retirement, renting a property, taking care of my lawn, fixing car and lawnmower issues, and more of a normal guy than I ever thought possible.

I've always played the season or My Life mode of MLB PP 2008, off and on, when I need a break or miss baseball in the offseason. Amazing that a game has lasted that long in today's world - although most of the games I play are either on my tablet, SNES emulator, or a PC or PS game from '96-2001. I do own a PS3 now, in addition to the Wii, so South Park: Stick of Truth and others are in my sizeable video game collection.

I haven't been around here that long, I still consider myself decently new compared to the rest of the bunch. I joined June 5th, 2012 for the second time, after making an account April 11th, 2012, (when I was 12) but not activating it.

I've been around two years, when I joined I had just finished my 7th grade year, my first year of actually going to school, I was homeschooled up until then. Now, in one week I will be headed to sophomore year and am trying to get my permit in November.

I joined in August 2011 (on a Monday like today, no less), so I was going into eighth grade. Things have sure changed a lot since then - grew out of cartoons, for one (I'm talking about the Disney/Nick variety, not old-school classics like Tom & Jerry or anything like that. still love those). I've gotten my driver's license, and after years of my childhood spent fantasizing about cars (I believe I designed a few back in my younger days), I was hesitant to start learning, especially after driving onto a median (in a parking lot) my first time, but I got accustomed to that as well.

In addition, I've gone from a real quiet kid to a more mature guy with a lot of friends and friendly acquaintances. Plus, after thinking I had set on Indiana as my college choice, I've gotten to visit several schools and am now rethinking everything. Plus, I've seen this forum grow from a relatively populated site mainly discussing Power Pros to a more sparsely visited site, but one that discusses other topics - other games as well as real life.

Thanks to DS for bringing this up - sure this brings back memories for almost everyone here.

What do you guys think of my draft?

Your draft sucked. Maybe that sounds a bit harsh, but there is absolutely absolutely no reason to pick those guys that high. Those picks alone make it like a D.

If I disregard those two, maybe a C+. Maybe. I don't like a bunch of the guys you took. I like Bryant in the 4th, and Charles at 7 isn't bad, but the rest of the guys don't go anything for me. Foles? Pettigrew? Morris? Ehh, I'll pass.

Exactly what I was thinking

After the top 5 (Foles is very suspect as a 3rd rounder), I see nothing but maybe Prater and Watkins that could really contribute. Maybe Manziel turns out to be a stud or Foles justifies that 3rd round pick but otherwise I see your team as a total bottom-feeder

I also think you went way too heavy on receivers. You have 4 running backs. 4. That's awful. They're not even good running backs. Obviously Charles is a stud, but Morris is okay, and Ingram and Rainey are terrible. Unless you have unique PPR league settings, you're gonna have a really bad time.
