My strategy that works almost all the time:

If the batter is thinking -
Fastball - go with a slow pitch that breaks downward, i.e. changeup, curveballs, forkball, knuckler

Breaking Ball - high fastball to the corners, usually outside corner, aim a little far out - but if I feel I'm doing it too much, I'll move to the other corner.

Also, I aim my pitches away from the sweetspot if the batter moves it - obviously.

I tried the knuckleball for my most recent pitcher - no g-ring - I got it to level 4 and no one could hit it when I mixed it with an average mid-80's fastball.

I don't think I've played the All-Stars game as extensively as most of you, but I did notice a big difference with the goggles. Without the rookie charm and goggles I was getting blown out; I think the best I did was getting beat 9-0 :)
I added both of them and beat them 7-4 and got them to K a few times. Tried to play them without the goggles but still with the charm and lost 7-6, and they were hitting EVERYTHING. No more watching strikes or swing and misses.

not with the goggles ....

On the contrary, even more so because of how the goggles work. In order to exploit the goggles to the fullest, you're better off using pitchers that have a big contrast with their breaking pitches and 4SFB.

Important info- with Jeter or Ichiro on base. (Maybe other fast players.) Constantly pick them off, it might take 5-10 tries, but they WILL get out if you keep trying.

Not much is better in this game than jacking a grandslam off Pedro to beat the AS game. His stuff is weak.

Yeah, but for me, that's only possible with my own hitter.

Alvin's the best hitter on the team for god's sake - without him it's Brad.

I just finished a game against the All-Stars with my pitcher and threw a 1-run complete game, which I won 2-1. It was my third time playing them.

Once you play them enough, it gets a lot easier. Learning ways to beat them is simple.

Pick off Jeter and Ichiro.
Get hit by low changeups and curves (they throw one about once a batter - plate discipline counts!).

With the right items (PG and RC), and your own good hitter and pitcher, it gets easier and easier. I played them 10+ times when I was getting the 6000 point thing, and won about 7.

Without the rookie charm and with the psychic goggles I lost 2-0. I was making a pitcher so I did pretty well. I struck out 21 in 8 innings! :D
