I've been able to buffer videos in 720p for years, all i did before my problem was have 3 or 4 videos buffering at the same time by letting them fully buffer and then watching them without any lag. Last week i tried to buffer another video and it only buffered a little more than 1:00 minute of the video and stopped dead in its tracks. It would only buffer more of the video until i played the video, and since it didn't fully buffer the video was lagging. I tried buffering a video in 720p that was under 1 minute long. It fully buffered but it still lagged the entire time. All I do is watch videos in 480p now but this never happened to me before, is there anything i can do, or is it a youtube server problem?

This happens to me sometimes but it usually clears itself up after awhile.

could you define "awhile"?
like a few weeks or months

A week or two usually. It's really *(censored)* annoying while it's happening, though. Although there's never a better feeling in the world than logging into youtube expecting your videos not to buffer and then they do. It's like taking a giant dump right when you get home from school. Yeah, that's right.

HAHA i guess so, I could check to see if it starts to buffer 720p in the next few days, and so on and so forth, but if nothing happens, then i'll bring it back to your attention.

oh haha, im just confused why i can't buffer them, i thought i downloaded something but i haven't downloaded anything on my laptop in a while

it's been a almost 2 months, and I am still having the same problem, i don't know what to do anymore
