FWIW, I regret not taking any courses on religion while in college. I was a philosophy minor, and now that I have been in the "real world" for some time, I see how religion really affects people's views on things, and having some background on that would probably be helpful, Regardless of whether you get involved in politics, sales, or anything.

Hey now, that's actually a pretty good point. I might just have to take a class or two on religion.

Hell, I don't really know anything about religion, so it would be pretty cool to learn regardless.

Religion in general is a pretty interesting subject, I'm a Christian but I'm sure it'd be interesting to read the Quran, or study who other religions worship.

I've heard enough religious B.S throughout my life, going to church every dang Sunday. And going to Sunday school every week since kindergarten, finally got confirmed so no more of that. Can't wait until the day comes when I don't have to go to church any more. because honestly, it does make sense.

I've never gone to church. I have no idea if that's a good or bad thing.

eh, I'm not one for organized religion, so I don't feel like I've missed anything. But, I do like learning about mythology a lot.

I haven't gone in years, and I honestly don't plan on ever going again. I really want nothing to do with religion. Many arguments (and wars) are started because two people had opposing beliefs on something we can't even know!

Late to the thread here.

I'm going into my senior year now, and I plan on majoring in education with a focus on English. I made this decision last year, as my 10th grade English teacher was a great guy and really got me into writing. I hope I can make a difference in the lives of my future students the way he did in mine. Plus, I hope to use any free time to pursue a writing career, but it'll be nice to have a steady job as a fallback.

Also, if I'm teaching 11th grade, many puns will be had when we read Catcher in the Rye.

I'm heading into my freshman year majoring in psychology. I feel like that will be the right choice for me, since I love the mind and how it works.

On the topic of religion, I've been forced to go to church for pretty much every weekend of my life and I can safely say that it's made me reject the concept of religion as a whole now. As soon as I move out, I won't be going to church anymore. (as a Catholic)

On the off-topic: I haven't been to church since I was in kindergarten because, as my mom says, either the minister sucks, the people suck (in a sort of socialite-y, doing it for the de-facto-ness way), or both. I'm very much in the middle; a good bit of me has belief, for sure, and I'm actually going to a college with slight Methodist ties, but I'm also scared off by how destructive, physically and socially, religion can be, and how much it's used as a tool for conflict or for political agendas or just plain bigotry.

On the on-topic: I'm heading into freshman year this year and I already plan on majoring in Sports Management (under Business Administration), possibly with a minor in Psychology because I love that subject. My dream job is sports agent, but really, anything in sports would be cool. I mean, I just want to work where my passion lies, and it's a huuuuuuuuuge field, so why not, right?

Off-topic: I've only been to church when I visit my grandma (so around twice every other year). I made it to 4th grade without learning what the word "God" meant. Yeah, my family's not very religious and neither am I.

On-topic: lol idk I'll probably go for something in math/statistics or maybe computer science. A lot of people have suggested engineering to me, but it never really appealed to me. Hopefully I'll have enough AP credits to fool around in General Studies until I actually declare a major.

Also, there was some conversation on actuaries that's probably dead by now. I think actuary was ranked as the #1 job in America by NPR (or something. I forget who I probably sound really dumb right now) based on pay and happiness level. I know a girl who's majoring in actuarial sciences and she LOVES explaining it to people who know nothing about it.
