why is everyone doing broadcasting??

I'm hoping for something in Primary or Secondary Education. Anything that can get me closer to moving back to Indiana where my family lives rather than staying in Arizona. Once you have received your teaching license, you can go anywhere in the United States. Teaching in Illinois and Indiana pays more salary wise than teaching in Arizona too; AZ - $31,689, IL - $36,636, and IN - $33,574 for teachers entering the job on their first year in the business. Good money to be living solo on, and teaching has always been a passion.

I thought that too. Especially considering that if you want to be a broadcaster for big league games, you're gonna need to know some people. Or have a voice of the angels. Or both

Anyway, I assume the majority of the people on this forum aren't just here because they love MLB Power Pros. They probably love the sport of baseball itself just as much. Provided there is plenty of room for broadcasters in not only News and Politics, but also in Sports, maybe they will one day be able to broadcast for the AAA or maybe even the Major League.

Or maybe doing the sports on the local news show. There's a guy who does sports on one news channel around here, and every year he gets to go broadcast the state basketball games. He's pretty good.

I want to go into broadcasting because I feel I can be better than Joe Buck.

Nah, in all seriousness, I want to do it, because I feel like I can portray any type of story to people watching, sports or in general. Plus, I feel like I have the voice to do it. And I know broadcasting isn't the easiest thing to get into, but I feel like I'll be able to do it.

Film studies/film production.

Or creative writing, or history or some other things.

I'd like to see you do some video game broadcasting on something non-Power Pros, because all you do with that (and all you really can do) is just provide play-by-play because of the game speed. Maybe try something with 2K, with its slower pace.

You know, I was thinking of doing that in the near future. Maybe when my video editor quits making all my videos have a half-black screen. Maybe when the person I go to for new 2K rosters releases a new update, I'll do that. Just be warned: my mic is not the best one in the world, and my computer is very...talkative when it plays the game, we'll just say that.

I think Buck does fine at football, baseball isn't his thing. He does basically all the Packers games on FOX.

I've mentioned before that I have no idea what I want to go into. Maybe I'll just look into something practical and pursue my real passions (film, writing, etc.) outside of work.

"Actuary" seems to be a pretty highly rated job, in terms of how much people enjoy their work. This is from the studies I've seen, and the few actuaries I know. That being said, i think there are more opportunities for actuaries who focus on insurance (and medical insurance, in particular) than other types.
