Can Peavy really beat guys like: James Loney, Derek Jeter, Alfonso Soriano, Manny Machado, Nick Markakis, Chris Davis, Edwin Encarnacion, Jose Bautista, and Jose Reyes? The Red Sox haven't had a good team since Curt Schilling and Manny Ramirez left. They are primed to either: collapse in September or get swept in the ALDS.

The Rockies are six games under, and have about a 5% chance of making the playoffs. Yeah, real contenders.

And the Sox are better than the Blue Jays, Yankees, Orioles, and are about equal with the Rays. They're the third best team in the majors! Who says Peavy can't beat guys like that? If below average relievers can get them out, Peavy definitely can.

The Red Sox have done all they need to prove themselves. They are the third best team in the league. You have no legitimate reasons for their 'inevitable postseason collapse.' I think you're just trying to start shit for the hell of it.

I said their names stand out. I also never said anything about Ellsbury using something. Possible, yes, but I could give you a list of several names that are suspicious. It is also possible his shoulder injury sapped his power, and since that happened, he hasn't been the star he once was (though he is very good, don't get me wrong). All in all, I'm saying Jake Peavy won't help the Red Sox, as recent history has suggested they will collapse. They'll have to prove me wrong for me to gain back their respect.
