But you see, there's two problems with that. First off, people would have to care about this award, and I'm not sure they will. And two, popularity always comes into play

Yeah, the caring piece is pretty big.

For the popularity part, we could just hope that people wouldn't just vote for the Jacksonville Hickories every single time because it's their favourite log, take others into account. Sure maybe that log would win a few times but then at least you'd put others into consideration.

Would log of the month work any better?

I think rather than awards, the kind of thing you could do with the season logs is just have a general criticism topic, where people can choose whether or not they want their log criticized, and have people make comments on all the logs they follow. Just detailing all of the things they like and don't like about each one. It would make the people who write logs feel more recognized and let them know some areas they can improve in.

I don't know how well that would work though actually. I honestly just kind of thought about it on the spot, haven't thought it through yet, could be the worst idea ever for all I know.

That's actually a pretty good idea, if you write a log and you're okay with criticism, then you could post in said topic, have the OP edit you into the main post, and then just have people criticize you, positively or negatively, if it is negatively then give a reason on how to make it better.

I'd take full advantage of that :P

But I think that would be a good idea, because it seems like nobody dares criticize a big log, even if they probably should.

I wonder how many of the overall log writers would volunteer for that though, and I think volunteering would have to be a key aspect to it. I don't know if it would be a good idea to just criticize everyone, I don't know if everyone can take it. Also, the people writing the criticism would actually need to put a good amount of thought into it and analyze some things.

Overall, I don't think I want to make the topic for that, but if anyone else wants to use that idea and start a topic for it, I give them my permission. And you can also consider all of my logs volunteered to it if it happens.

I volunteer all of mine as well, I'll wait for skittle to make it since I'd imagine he LOVES criticizing things, but otherwise I'm cool with that.

Only every once and a while :P

But yeah, the volunteering thing would be important. It would be pretty dickish to randomly go after a log if the writer isn't okay with it.

Yeah, so if you do make it, put those guidelines we made and a list of volunteers.

Played some more Fire Emblem: Awakening, I tend to just play a little each night. I don't know why, but with handheld games I can't seem to just go all out and play them for hours at a time usually.

I was going to mention how the game does a good job of making you feel bad about when you screw up and someone dies. I had someone that's around since about the beginning die, and I didn't really even like him, but I missed him after his death. Then today I had a character I actually liked die in one-hit in a battle. Then she showed up in the next cutscene. What's the deal with that? Do they not really die, do they just get wounded too badly to continue fighting and then too embarrassed to re-join you for other fights? Or do the cutscenes really not take anything into consideration, in which case there will probably be more and more dead people in cutscenes as the game progresses. That's kind of an immersion breaker.

Yeah, I didn't really like that either, but most of the important characters only get severely wounded rather than dying. It's too bad, really, because the story could be much more interesting if the deaths actually affected it.

That's James Cabrera as your avatar!

I'd guess because of your signature.
Also, I have no clue who James Cabrera is.
