How you stealing bases in Life mode? You don't control your runner once he's on base and his bat is over. If someone else is on base when I am batting then I can send that runner.

On the negitive side----My Wii is broke! Won't accept gamedisks, automatically ejects them. Gotta wait a couple of weeks till I get it back.

Options -> Stealing -> Manual

You get to control runners during your at-bat (run-and hit, they do hit-and-run automatically for you).
Also, if you get on base, only certain situations are you allowed to steal:
  • You are the only runner on 1st or 2nd
  • You on 2nd and Runner on 1st
  • Runner on 3rd and you on 1st

Every other situation goes back to auto (no stealing home and no initiating the double steal when you are the last runner).

I steal 2nd every time with any player over 5 spd and never get picked off.
Basically mash triangle at the start of the at-bat, then LR if the pitcher doesn't throw. If he does, run toward 2nd, then go back as soon as the 1b throws to 2nd, usually a little past halfway between the two bases. Mash LR as you are going back to first. The 1b usually throws to the base, who then throws to a "cut-off man" in between the two bases, letting you get back. Sometimes he throws to the "cut-off man" who then throws to 2nd even though you are returning to 1st if you timed it correctly. And sometimes the man on 2nd will throw directly to 1st, but this only happens if you timed your return very well and are making it back anyway.
Stealing 3rd is hard unless you have at least 12 spd, 13 is probably better. The same technique for pickoffs works here. Against the good catchers even a 14 spd player will get caught. One thing I have tried is returning to 2nd during the steal unless the pitcher throws a breaking ball as you can usually get back. The problem with stealing 3rd is that the cpu batter always likes to swing and inevitably lines out to the second baseman.

I have 51 homers and 64 SB on 8/11/09 so I'll get 60-60 soon.
