"What how is this possible?" I yelled
"Well, me and everyone else in the front office got jobs elsewhere, some even as GM's. So, we are leaving, good luck on a new staff." Jacoby Lewis stated.
"But,the World Series ended two days ago! How did you get offers this quickly?" I replied
"We good sir, we good." and with that my whole staff was gone.
"Would you like a drink sir?" some blonde haired girl asked.
"You are my new assitant GM!"

October 31 2008
I met with 15 people to be on the staff. I decided to hire four of them:
Mark Clevenger, a 31 YO former MILB player who played 2B.
Stephon Green, a 22 YO baseball fan I met in the MLBtraderumors comment section.
Oswaldo Papadopoulos, a 27 YO former Reds scout.
A scout who went by AgentP. Hope to catch his name next time.

My client Franklin Morales reports be is happy here, and would like to stay with the Cubs. He also recommends to keep Brad Hawpe, as he has great power, and his swing works at Wrigley Field. Rich Hill is ecstatic to win the World Series!

"Hello, as painful as this is to announce I have decided that 2008 will be my last time playing baseball, atleast as a professional. I Jon Leiber will never play in the MLB again. I would like to thank the Cubs and the city of Chicago for the opportunity to play and to go out as a champion."
(Other notable retired players: Hideo Nomo,Darren Olive, and Troy Percival)

That blonde girl refused to say her name so I've decide to call her Shirly. I found out she is Hendy's daughter, so I can't fire her. (Damn)
Anyways Shirly is full of the most useless information. Just today I was on the phone with Mark Prior's agent and she strolls into my office and says,
"So it's time for salary negotiations again this year, you do know what salary negotiations are, don't you? Today I'll explain how that is done. Make sure to keep one eye on the payroll limits!"

Today I talked to P.P 27 agency's representatives
I met with Damion Cole and Jeff Thayel. I've heard that Thayel will work with you and wants to make his client happy, as well as not screw over the team. Cole, well heard exactly the opposite.
Today we talked about Morales.
"Franklin says he is very happy to play for the Cubs and wants to come back." Damion Said
"Good but the more important thing is what is he demanding as a salary?" I replied
"Well Frankling is getting a 1500 point deal for 1 year" Damion Cole said
"Well we are closer to 500 points, care to work with me?" I retorted
"No, this is where we are at take it or leave it!" Damion exploded
"Calm down Damion! What do you have in mind,Mark?"Jeff Thayel asked.
"How about 1 year 900 points?" I answered
"We will take the offer to Franklin and see what he thinks. We will talk about Rich tomorrow. Thanks." and with that they were gone

The next day only Thayel came back to discuss Hill's new deal.
"Hill would like 1200 points a year for one year." Thayel said
"How about 100 points for one year?"
"That sounds good, let me ask him (I was planning on trying to get 800)." Thayel said

We only let three players go without negotiation. That would be Ryan Dempster,Henry Blanco, and Bob Howry
Both Hill and Morales signed thankfully.

If you still have Brandon Moss I'll take him. A personal favourite of mine in real life.

If the trade advisor position is still open I'd be happy to take that role as well, assuming no one else wishes for that part.

Free agency
For the 1st half of free agency we have many targets.
My free agent scout suggest's Carl Crawford and Jake Peavy while I plan to pursue Juan Rivera,Morgan Ensberg,Wes Helms, and lowball K-Rod.
After the 1st week I was pleased as we signed Rivera,Ensberg and Jake Peavy.
The Red Sox got Ben Sheets,Sabthia to the Angels.

The 2nd weeks was strange, we got Helms and Doug Mientkiewicz. We also got Orlando Hudson for 5 years at the league minimum.
The Astros got Eric Byrnes.

Our Projected Rotation
1.Carlos Zambrano
2.Jake Peavy
3.Ted Lilly
4.Rich Hill
5.Franklin Morales

At the moment,Ryan Doumit is battling with Juan Rivera for RF.

Shirley got all depressing and asked me question like "Do you want to continue?". I think she may be sucidal. But anyways, the Rays offered Iwamora for Rich Hill. I laughed in their face.

Spring Training
I decided to teach Mark DeRosa how to be a Catcher. I decided to sign three pitchers, Yorman Bazardo, Nate Bacsik, and Zoilo Cardona. We are converting Bazardo to a Catcher. Brad Hawpe seems to be more of a POWER HITTER, I expect big things this season. A few pitchers brought new pitches to camp, but I expect only a few to stick with them. Peavy is striking out more batters now and Rich Hill never throws mistakes down the middle.Spring Training games start soon.

I like the additions you made, plus having DeRosa learn catcher is a solid idea.

If he wants a trade advisor, there could be more than one.
