I just got 40 homers and 40 SB on 6/26/2009 (My second year). Kudos to anyone who can accomplish that before that date.

This is all before the All Star Break. I'm going to try to get 60-60 or 70-70 at the end of the season.

I can get the 40 homers part, heck I'll definitly be able to get that in my current season. But after about 4 and 1/6 seasons I don't have one SB lol. I'm like 0-40 in SB attempts.

So definitly good job.

I can probably get that too. I am almost 50-50 before the All Star Game.

hmm... i can get the SBs easy (150+ a year) but I can't hit more than a handful of homers (gotta be a fastball up in the zone)

I have the opposite problem. I'll hit over a hundred homers a year and steal a handful of bases.

I keep getting outrageously unlucky on home runs every other game someone robs me at the warning track. :x

What is the "key" to stealing bases? I have stolen some, but how do you get to those type of numbers?

I've got a guy who gets a lot of extra base hits so I only end up with 30 - 35 steals a year. I also have a lot of base cloggers ahead of him in the lineup. I've only ever gotten into the 30-30 club

I'm a slap hitter, singles type of hitter. When I started I had D run speed, so it's doable. If the pitcher has release 4 or the catcher has good arm speed, then I'll pull the trigger early. Otherwise you want to push the steal button RIGHT when the pitcher begins the motion. If you get a good jump, you'll be about 2/3rd there.

Pushing the button early makes you prone to getting picked off (stealing and running exp down) but is a sure-fire option against most lefties.

If you screw up or are much less than halfway, keep running until the ball PASSES the pitcher (or the pitcher throws to 2nd). You can stop, and quickly race back to 1st as the ball gets handled by an unnecessary cutoff man.

Once you get stealing 4, your guy gets a very solid jump about 90% of the time. Run 4 will cover 50% of the last 10% you don't, and once you get to 13 Run speed, you are unstoppable.

I've got a 15 speed player so it's pretty easy for me but here's what I do: Press traingle as fast as I can while waiting for the pitch. Then once he throws it press R1 L1 as fast as possible. Even with a slower player that should get you safe almost every time. If he tries to pick you off then you're in trouble.
