Season 4, Game 2:

Boston Bruins (1-0) at Oakland Athletics:

Bruins: 8
Athletics: 2

The Bruins got some early offense that supported Zambrano well enough to get him the win. Zambrano pitched perfect for 6 innings, if you don't count the two home runs... And the other hit. Alfredo Aceves came into a 2 run game but the offense opened the game up from there so he was left in for a 3 inning save.

Player of the Game: Shawn Thornton

Thornton: 2-4, HR, 3 R, RBI, BB, SB
Ellsbury: 1-4, R, RBI, BB, K, SB
Zimmerman: 2-4, 3 RBI, BB, K
Morneau: 1-5, K
Gonzalez: 1-5, K
Lewis: 2-4, 2 R
Cooper: 1-4, R, 2 K
Davis: 2-4, R, K
Curtis: 1-4, RBI

E: S.Thornton

C.Zambrano: 6 innings pitched, 3 hits, 2 runs, 4 strikeouts, win
A.Aceves: 3 innings pitched, 3 hits, 3 strikeouts, save

Win: Carlos Zambrano (1-0)
Loss: Bartolo Colon (0-1)
Save: Alfredo Aceves (1)
HR: S.Thornton, B.Moss, J.Jaso

I'm now taking requests of teams to play against. I don't feel like going through all my posts every time or trying to guess which teams I haven't played yet. So whether I missed a team or you want a rematch, I'll look into doing it.

I also may take requests on some players to activate, but I have a very limited selection so you'd have to request someone I already have by sheer coincidence.

---

Season 4, Game 3:

Atlanta Braves at Boston Bruins (2-0)

Braves: 3
Bruins: 7

Lester pitched phenomenal in a complete game win over the Braves, his statline suggests he allowed 3 earned runs and 2 home runs, but to those who watched the game, it's clear that no runs were Lester's fault. A home run he allowed with 2 outs for 2 runs was clearly a screwed up call, as the ball very obviously bounced off the wall and the ground before going over the wall. His other home run allowed was a single that Tucker Davis somehow completely screwed up, falling over while missing the ball for no apparent reason. Boston's offense was again pretty good.

Player of the Game: Ryan Zimmerman

Thornton: 2-4, HR, R, RBI
Ellsbury: 1-4, HR, R, RBI, K
Zimmerman: 2-4, 2 HR, 2 R, 3 RBI
Morneau: 3-4, R
Gonzalez: 1-3, 2B, BB
Lewis: 0-4, K
Cooper: 4-4, 2B, R
Davis: 0-3, BB, K
Curtis: 2-4, R

Lester: 9 innings pitched, 6 hits, 3 runs, 1 walk, 8 strikeouts

Win: Jon Lester (2-0)
Loss: Kris Medlen (0-1)
HR: S.Thornton, J.Ellsbury, R.Zimmerman (2)

---

I almost drew as many walks as I had strikeouts that game, so my plate vision is getting a bit better.

And I'll try to figure out how to get the replays of the home runs on here, the 2 run home run was especially bad. It came with 2 outs, should have been a ground rule double, and the next batter struck out. The home run later I can understand the fielder really screwed up on, but how could nobody in charge of the calls see the ball clearly bounced on that 2 run "home run"?

What about Detroit? They should have a pretty good team.

Okay, Detroit will be the next game update. Followed by either other request anyone has or random teams drawn from a hat. (I was speaking figuratively there, but now that I think of it, doing so literally could be fun)

And now for the "highlights" of last game (I figured out how to upload from PS3 and I'll use my Misc YouTube account for it, so any future games, if there are highlights worth the trouble, you'll be able to see them):

2 run "home run":

Inside the park home run:

Aside from these, Lester allowed no runs.

Season 4, Game 4:

Boston Bruins (3-0) at Detroit Tigers:

Bruins: 7
Tigers: 6

An easy candidate for the most exciting game the Bruins have ever played, sometimes for the wrong reasons, but the Bruins just barely came out on top. The Bruins gave up the 6-4 lead in the 8th inning, and the bases were still loaded with nobody out, but Aceves somehow got out of the jam without allowing another run, and they needed a 9th inning rally. They got it, Shawn Thornton opened it with a single, Ellsbury bunted for a single, Zimmerman took his 5th walk of the game to load the bases with nobody out. Morneau then hit a ball that could have been extra bases, but the runners all had to hold in case the ball was caught, so they were still down by one. Gonzalez hit a weak infield chopper to get the tying run in on a groundout, and Staton pinch hit for Mike Lewis, and came through with the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly.

Things didn't quite end there though. Brian Wilson came in to pitch the 9th inning, when Barry Cooper in Left Field made an error on an easy fly ball to get the tying run on second with nobody out, a passed ball later got him to third, but Wilson would not allow the run to score. Zimmerman didn't record an at-bat all game, but scored two runs.

Player of the Game: Justin Morneau

Thornton: 3-5, 3B, R, RBI
Ellsbury: 1-5, R, K
Zimmerman: 0-0, 2 R, 5 BB
Morneau: 2-5, HR, R, 3 RBI, K
Gonzalez: 1-5, RBI
Lewis: 1-4, 2B, K
Staton: 0-0, RBI
Cooper: 1-5, K
Davis: 1-4, 2B, R
Curtis: 2-4, 2B, R, RBI

E: B.Cooper
PB: R.Curtis

B.Kelly: 5 innings pitched, 7 hits, 4 runs, 3 strikeouts
P.Aumont: 1 inning pitched, 2 hits, 0 runs
A.Aceves: 2 innings pitched, 5 hits, 2 runs, 3 strikeouts, win
B.Wilson: 1 inning pitched, 0 hits, 0 runs, 2 strikeouts, save

Win: Alfredo Aceves (1-0)
Loss: Phil Coke (0-1)
Save: Brian Wilson (1)
HR: J.Morneau, P.Fielder

---

This game I actually did get more walks than strikeouts, and 2 or 3 of my strikeouts were from looking at pitches out of the strike zone. While one was from looking at a pitch that was definitely in the strike zone. So I rarely chase anymore.

Season 4, Game 5:

Philadelphia Phillies at Boston Bruins (4-0):

Phillies: 10
Bruins: 11

Bruins complete an unbelievable comeback over the Phillies to finish off another perfect season. Bruins were down by 2 in the bottom of the 7th when 3 runs scored to give them a 5-4 lead, this wouldn't last, as in the 8th inning their relief pitching performed in Canadian fashion, giving up 6 runs on 2 home runs to make it a 10-5 game, the Bruins chipped away with 1 in the bottom of the 8th, and strung together an incredible rally to plate 5 in the bottom of the 9th for an 11-10 9 inning victory, Shawn Thornton drove in the winning run and was 0-4 before that hit. Tucker Davis, almost being kicked off the team yet again for his antics in right field, turning singles into doubles and triples more than once in this game, but with 2 runners in scoring position and 2 out, he delivered the biggest hit of his career to drive in both and tie the game, he also scored the winning run.

Player of the Game: Justin Morneau

Thornton: 1-5, RBI, BB, K, SB
Ellsbury: 2-4, 3B, 2 R, RBI, BB, K, SB
Zimmerman: 1-5, HR, R, 3 RBI, K
Morneau: 3-4, HR, 2 2B, 3 R, RBI, BB
Gonzalez: 0-4, BB
Lewis: 2-5, 2 R, RBI, K
Cooper: 2-5, 2 2B, R, RBI, K
Davis: 2-5, R, 2 RBI, 2 K
Curtis: 2-5, 2B, R, K

E: E.Gonzalez, T.Davis, R.Zimmerman

C.Royal: 4 innings pitched, 5 hits, 3 runs, 1 walk, 6 strikeouts
P.Aumont: 2 innings pitched, 0 hits, 0 runs, 1 strikeout
J.Feliz: 1 inning pitched, 3 hits, 1 run, 2 strikeouts
J.Shannon: 1.1 innings pitched, 6 hits, 6 runs, 1 walk, 1 strikeout, blown save (and then some, yeesh)
B.Lugo: 0.2 innings pitched, 0 hits, 0 runs, win

Win: Benito Lugo (2-0)
Loss: Jonathan Papelbon (0-1)
HR: R.Zimmerman, J.Morneau, C.Utley, R.Howard, C.Ruiz

---

I was pretty close to kicking out Tucker Davis after this game, but after the hit he had I don't know if I still can, I am seriously considering moving him to DH though, even though I put training money into his throwing. He probably would have screwed up another play but Thornton dove to keep it from getting to him. I think the opposing teams have scouted us and are purposely hitting the ball for singles into right because they usually get extra bases with him trying to play the ball. His ability to play the ball on a single reminds me of me when I played right field when I was eight, except worse.

Actually, Zimmerman has as good, if not better, stats. So one vote for him

I've now decided that for this log I will induct a new member to the Hall of Fame every season. I was thinking at first of only doing it if they got some percentage of the votes, but I think it's good enough to put someone in every year, it seems that the way the team is rolling now there will always be someone worthy.

I don't really want to be a tiebreaker in the voting though, so I'll give it a little time for someone else to get a vote in if they want to. If I get too bored of waiting and really just want to play another game with the team (especially since I somehow wasted all my money and need to earn more through games), I will break the tie, and I honestly don't know who I'd vote for at the moment, I'll have to think of it if necessary.

I also edited on base percentage for them in there.

1. Zimmerman
2. Ortiz
3. Ellsbury

I'd take Zimmerman over Ortiz but only slightly in my opinion.

Haven't updated in a while, but I think I could probably get a game in on Monday. Since it's been a while since an update, I'll put in a minor one here:

Zimmerman is now in the team Hall of Fame, I would have picked him in a tiebreaker anyway, with the big OBP difference clinching it.

Also, I'm not in game right now, but I believe the replacements of those retired players are:

Junichi Tazawa
Pedro Ciriaco
Brett Gardner

Guess I should check if I still know how to play this...

---

Season 5, Game 1:

Boston Bruins at Chicago White Sox:

Bruins: 7
White Sox: 3

The Bruins were held scoreless for a while early in the game and fell down 2-0 on a Dunn home run, but they remained patient at the plate, tiring out the White Sox starter and then getting some hits off of him and his relievers. The biggest hit was a 3 run home run by Romeo Curtis in the 6th inning making it a 5-2 game.

Player of the Game: Romeo Curtis

Thornton: 2-4, 2B, R, RBI, BB, K
Gardner: 3-5, 2B, RBI, 2 K, SB
Ciriaco: 1-5
Morneau: 1-5, 3B, R, 2 K
Gonzalez: 3-5, 2 2B, R, RBI
Lewis: 0-4, BB
Cooper: 0-4, R, BB, K
Davis: 3-3, 2 R, RBI, BB
Curtis: 1-4, HR, R, 3 RBI

C.Zambrano: 4 innings pitched, 4 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, 2 strikeouts
B.Lugo: 3 innings pitched, 1 hit, 0 runs, 3 strikeouts, win
J.Tazawa: 2 innings pitched, 1 hit, 1 run, 3 strikeouts

Win: Benito Lugo (3-0)
Loss: Nate Jones (0-1)
HR: R.Curtis, A.Dunn (2)

---

I was a bit doubtful when being scoreless after 5 innings, but the hits came right after that and a big 6th inning was enough to win.

Was going to do an update but Diamond Dynasty won't let me into a game, so I'll have to do something else.

I now leave with a video of our team's star second baseman.

And I'm back with another game update. Was the bug causing it to not work last time fixed? Of course not, but a long and tedious workaround was discovered.

---

Season 5, Game 2:

Pittsburgh Pirates at Boston Bruins (1-0)

Pirates: 1
Bruins: 12

Lester was given the start on short rest, as it was his last game before retirement. The Pirates knew this and took their at-bats as long as possible, managing to knock Lester out after just 4 innings despite his good work. McCutchen scored the Pirates only run on a solo home run. The game looked like it could have been close to the end, but the Bruins managed an 8 run 7th inning to open the game up, only ending when Shawn Thornton was caught sleeping at first base. Brian Wilson was brought in for the 9th despite the game not being close as he simply hasn't gotten many chances to pitch since joining as the closer. The Bruins had 12 hits on their way to their 12 run win.

Player of the Game: Pedro Ciriaco

Thornton: 2-4, 3 R, 2 RBI, HBP, SB
Gardner: 0-3, R, BB, K, SB
Ciriaco: 3-5, 2B, 2 R, 5 RBI, K, SB
Morneau: 1-5, R, RBI, K
Gonzalez: 2-4, R, 2 RBI
Lewis: 0-4
Cooper: 1-3, R, BB
Davis: 2-4, 2 2B, R, 2 RBI
Curtis: 1-3, 2 R, BB, 2 K

J.Lester: 4 innings pitched, 4 hits, 1 run, 1 walk (intentional), 3 strikeouts
B.Kelly: 3 innings pitched, 2 hits, 0 runs, 4 strikeouts, win
J.Feliz: 1 inning pitched, 2 hits, 2 strikeouts
B.Wilson: 1 inning pitched, 0 hits, 1 strikeout

Win: Bryan Kelly (2-1)
Loss: A.J. Burnett (0-1)
HR: A.McCutchen
