Also, has anyone seen the new MLB Network reality show, The Next Knuckler? It's a pretty neat concept, having former college QBs learn to throw a knuckleball (from Tim Wakefield, no less) and compete for a spot in D-Backs camp.

No, but I actually do have a pretty solid knuckler, I taught it to myself when I was 9.

I must be honest here, I am truly disgusted at ESPN completely ignoring Marcin Gortat's birthday today. Gortat is a basketball player, they cover basketball.

Why in the world are they covering the guy on basketball sneakers 50th birthday and not Gortat's. I need to write a letter to these guys.

Whew, it's been a while, almost two months. I sort of forgot about this place.

A little about what's been going on with me:

Baseball tryouts are coming up soon, which means winter workouts are coming to an end (thank goodness). I hate the winter program, but I have to do it because I can't risk falling behind, especially since I'll be gunning for Varsity this year...

Other than baseball, I've been swamped with finals (although those were a while ago), AP Language and AP Physics work, and praying the Senators will play a little less awfully on the road (hasn't worked yet... I'll keep everyone posted).

Overall, I guess I'm really just waiting for baseball to start. Hockey's great, but it's still #2 to baseball in my opinion. I've got high hopes for the Jays this year, but I'm staying cautious. I've got a bad feeling we'll end up like the Marlins. My friends, all O's fans, would never let me hear the end of it if that happened...

Maybe I'll even get out to a game this year. I haven't been to a Jays game since five or six years ago when we went up to visit family, so it'd be cool to go again.

Anyways, it's nice to be back. I hope to stick around for a while.

Had a JV vs. varsity scrimmage today at baseball practice. I pitched part of an inning and played second base, third base, and right field for an inning each. While pitching I got 2 outs, walked 2 or 3 batters, and gave up 1 or 2 hits. I also batted once, and struck out on a bunt foul with 2 strikes.

Might finally start doing some roster updates today. Baseball is somewhat back.

BTW, Phillies kick things off against Houston next Saturday, their first ST game.
