Another random/maybe will never happen question. But if it were to happen, hopefully this post could be a point of reference for the designers.

2 questions:

1)Do you think they should stick with the current comical/Japanese style graphics or update the graphics to reflect the power of the new systems?

and

2) What feature (if any) would you want to see in the "next gen" version of this game?
Custom soundtracks where you can pick what track plays for your created characters at bat music.

1. I'd be incredibly disappointed if they scrapped these graphics and went for realism. In my opinion, one of the biggest mistakes of game designers in recent years has been to shoot for hyper-realism in sports games. While I don't think anyone could argue that Madden or Tiger look much more realistic than games that came out even five years ago the problem is that the more realistic graphics seem to magnify the flaws. People notice now when it seems something is wrong with a running animation or the stirrups aren't quite right or the paint job of the end zone is wrong. That whole aspect doesn't matter when you make something like Power Pros (or Hot Shots Golf for example) that goes more for an artistic look than for trying to replicate reality. And you can't tell me these little legless weeble-like players don't have a certain charm.

2. Online play would be nice. This game is already ridiculously deep, simply being able to play online would send it into the stratosphere. Having online leagues might get me saying that it's one of the greatest games ever made. But really, I'd take just custom soundtracks too. That could be a bunch of fun to set up and play with.

1. One of the main reasons why I like Nintendo games is because a lot of them have Cartoony graphics. I would love for it to come over to the 360, but definitly keep the graphics the same.

2. Online play would is a must. If they don't make it for next years game the series may be in trouble.

I would cry if they changed the graphics. The graphics are great as they are.

they could upgrade the graphics to show more detail and stuff (power pro style audience, no cardboard 2d!), that would be nice, but maintain the same cartoon cel shaded look.

There's no way they'd change the graphics. It's like a long-standing tradition.

All this game needs is a little better menu navigation, downloadable rosters, and make the graphics HD.

i agree with you guys on this

1. keep the long standing tradition of chibi characters

2. online play/downloadable rosters is a must at this point in video game history. custom soundtracks that reflect real life intros is a big plus. the ability to have an out of town scoreboard during season or league play and also box scores for all completed games. also have the game released at the beginning of the MLB season instead of at the end, there's really no point in releasing it in the fall.

i too believe that the power pros series could be in trouble if 2k and/or konami of america do not implement gamers' wishes that have been requested since early this year. they should basically treat our game as if it was any other sports game out today with all the features gamers expect (like mlb 2k8 and mlb 08 the show) regardless of what platform it's released on. we have roughly a year or so to knock some sense into 2K and get them to upgrade potentially the best baseball and sports game ever.
