I know Mario Party has always had some elements of luck in it, but it got way out of hand in the later games. I stopped playing after Mario Party 7 where then it was "luckiest player wins". I played that game and lost to 3 CPU on the easiest difficulty while winning literally every minigame, but random luck just caused you to lose everything if anyone on the board happened to land on 1 of 50 Bowser spaces.
