Before today's game, I learned of a couple things that happened over our off day on the 5th:

-Derek Wayne's Run Speed increased from a E-7 to a D-8
-The Indians traded SP Roberto Hernandez, CL Chris Perez, and SP Chris Seddon to the Orioles for 2B Robert Andino.

Nice to see Wayne's Run Speed increase, and I don't get how that trade works for the ol' Indians. Eh, they'll finish in last in the Central, anyway.

May 4, 2012 - Story Update

"George Gray, what's the first item up for bids today?" Drew Carey announced.

Here was Robert, unexpectedly standing in Contestant's Row on The Price Is Right, waiting for the first prize up for bids along with his girlfriend, Kayla. That prize that was up for bids was one that was really intriguing.

"It's a set of digital video cameras!" George Gray explained. He went on to explain that they were Canon Vixia HV30s, capable of HD video quality, instant auto-focus, and optical image stabilization. Holy cow, Robert thought to himself, this would be perfect for the team! The first two bids were $1000 and $900. Kayla bid $901, but, thanks to camcorder shopping way before that day, he knew an amount that was close to the price of the camcorder.

"$899!" Robert exclaimed.

After he said that, a series of bells and whistles went off, prompting a joyful response from the rest of the audience. Drew explained that the person who guessed the exact price would win an extra $500.

"And the actual retail price is," Drew started, pausing for dramatic effect, "$899! Robert, come up here!" Robert jumped up and down for a bit, then hurried up on stage to meet Drew.

"Robert," Drew started, "how's it going, man? Where ya from?"

"I'm from Vancouver, Canada, Drew," Robert replied. After a couple more formalities, Drew revealed what game they were going to play.

The announcer then spoke again. "Robert, you're going to play Plinko for a chance to win $50,000!" Robert was overjoyed. Plinko was his favorite pricing game back when he watched. Having the chance to win 50k was incredible to him.

After Drew explained the game, the first item was revealed, which was a "5 Little Monkeys" board game. "Now," Drew said, "does the price of that start with a 2 or end with a 4?"

The one ting that Robert knew was that the audience was gonna be loud, shouting out suggestions. He didn't know it was that loud, and he had to adjust to that. He did, found that they were all shouting 2, so he answered 2, and was rewarded with a Plinko chip; the actual price was $27.

The next item was a water filter pitcher, with the wrong price of $34. Robert guessed 3, and was rewarded with another Plinko chip; the actual price was $32. Robert then got the next 2 items right, and soon he was climbing up the stairs to the Plinko board.
