I hated braces. I hated them soooooo much... especially after they got tightened. Holy crap that was awful. I remember immediately getting a snack when I got home from the appointment so I could have some food before the insane hurting started.

I mainly hated braces because I always had problems with the wire ripping up my inner cheek.

Yeah, I have that problem right now. The side of the wire is slightly long (because I got them tightened last week) so it kept poking my inner check. But now it must have built up some resistance because the poking doesn't hurt anymore.

But I feel that they aren't too bothersome as a whole. Some Advil takes care of after their tightened, wax helps when they poke out (well, if I had any left), and I haven't needed any rubber bands or pistons

Oh god I forgot about rubber bands. I had one going across the center of my mouth at one point. Made it impossible to eat. I accidentally chewed through it multiple times.

I got them tightened yesterday and had to take Advil. Today I woke up with my jaw killing me. Not just my teeth, but my jaw too. The pain woke me up and that is why I'm up at 6:54 A.M. on a day off.

You guys were having a discussion on braces, so here's my take.

I have braces, and it does hurt for the first couple days after you get them on or have an adjustment, but after you get used to them, they aren't any problem. And I'm not going to have rubber bands, so I should be fine. From what I've heard, though, those bands hurt. Sorry for the ones of you who got them.
