I was at a family reunion all weekend.

How 'bout you put yourself in my shoes.. suffering watching an awful team that people have thought are good just because of a few divsion titles and one NFC Championsip appearance, but in reality they're overrated. Dream team, my *ss.

The owner blows, the head coach blows (I know we've been over this - me, you and SJax really, but I just don't want to see his face on the sidelines anymore) the other coaches (Mornhinweg/Bobby April) suck, and the players are overrated.

They're gonna be 3-4 after today, one more nail in Andy Reid's coffin. The first step towards change for the better for the Eagles, hopefully.

TBH I don't really want to because I know you guys will just say I'm wrong and not understand why I feel the way I do.

Have you seen the Red Sox? After being predicted to win the WS in 2011, they totally choked in September and failed to make the playoffs, again. And then this season there was so much constant drama, a shitty coach, players who don't care, and a complete overhaul in August, And you know what? I'm just as loyal as I was before.

And I'm also a big fan of the Magic and Wizards. You know how fun it is to hear that your favorite player brought guns into a locker room? Or the best player your city has ever seen in the last 15 years keeps flipping back and forth on whether he wants to stay or go, only to be traded away for pennies on the dollar? And yet, I'll still be rooting for them just as hard as ever.

You can't just be there for the up's, you need to be there for the down's. And if you have an issue with that, then you're not a real fan. Go root for the Giants instead

What about the Phillies? They've been the division champions for the last five years and still haven't been back there since '08. They went 102-60 in 2011 and couldn't get past the first round. Since 2008 they've progressively done worse in the playoffs, getting knocked out earlier each year (much like the Eagles, record-wise). I still have hope for them, but the future is uncertain, for sure. At least the Red Sox don't have all that money tied up to declining veterans. Again I'm gonna be there and watch, but I'm unsure.

I probably overreacted again, but when you want to see a team win so badly and they don't get it done for 15 years, you get angry. I just want to see them win, and I'll still watch.

But it's still my belief they won't win with the combination of Vick/Reid/Mornhinweg/Lurie/Roseman (you'd have to know the team to know about Mornhinweg/Lurie/Roseman - the O Coordinator/owner/GM) that they have right now.

I'm just gonna watch and seen what happens, but I will say that you shouldn't be surprised if they struggle and I make more comments like these.

Bottom line: I wouldn't take them seriously, it's just me venting in the moment.

One more thing though. How about this?

The Eagles have had good seasons, and some mediocre ones too. Their QB is being paid $100 million over the course of his contract, yet is among the worst in the league for quarterback rating and probably has the most turnovers in the NFL. Their top CB makes $60 million yet routinely can be seen on Sundays being burnt by wide receivers on the other team (if you watch the Eagles you would know this). When team owner Jeffrey Lurie arrived in 1999, thanks to mommy and daddy giving him the millions to buy the team, he proclaimed the Eagles would be the "gold standard of the NFL" (more like the gold standard for always being close but not winning the big one) and would win "multiple Super Bowls". To this point they've reached it just once. Meanwhile, the current GM Howie Roseman was an accountant (yes, this is the truth) before being handed spots up the Eagles ladder over the years until he reached the GM position. This lead to two awful drafts in 2010 and 2011 in which busts Brandon Graham, Nate Allen, 26-year old Danny Watkins, and many others were drafted, while studs such as Earl Thomas and Jason Pierre-Paul slipped by (some of this can be blamed on HC Andy Reid, who is known to have a say in their drafts). Finally there was a solid one in 2012 (I'm convinced someone else was drafting for him, but hey, maybe not).

That'll be the last thing I say about them today, but that's why I don't like the current state of the team. Maybe I'm just overreacting. You can consider it venting and not take it overly serious.

I am back from Vegas and ready to be active again!

I've been a Rams fan since I was in second grade, and they've been absolute shit this whole time. That hasn't stopped me from proudly wearing my jersey, from Warner and Faulk to Jackson and Bradford, around school and in public.

The San Fran Giants were pretty meh for the better part of last decade, and I still cheered them on. Now I'm being rewarded for sticking with them by a 2010 ring and hopefully a 2012 one too.

I cheer for Liverpool in the Premier League, which hasn't been too rewarding for me of late (in a Eagles-y sort of way, maybe, because of moderate success but mediocrity of late).

My list goes on and on, man, but the point remains for me: I don't let my frustration get the best of me and make me want to switch teams, even if the Rams go a full season with only 1 win. You talk about your team being dysfunctional? My team sometimes took 3 (or more) seasons to get to what the Eagles got in 1 in terms of wins. The only time we've sniffed the playoffs recently was '10, and we got rejected by Clipboard Jesus and finished 7-9. Yeah, we would have been 8-8 and in playoffs.

Weather the downs and enjoy the highs, man, and again, stop the goddamn at-length, incessant bitching about your team because they're looking like a .500 team. Things will change at some point, for better or for worse, so just live with them. Also, given that it's Philly, something will give.

This is the same for all fans and their teams. There will always be good times and bad times. Quitting on your team is just saying " I only like em when there good, but when they stink I just hop the bandwaghon for another team.
