NFL Week 2 | Sunday Afternoon Football

Houston Texans (1-0) @ Miami Dolphins (1-0)

This afternoon's game sure was a blowout. In the first Matt Schaub ran a 9-yd TD run to make it 7-0 Texans. Later in the first, Arian Foster ran a 2-yd TD run to make it 14-0 Texans. In the second, Dan Carpenter nailed a 45-yd kick for the Dolphins to reduce the lead to 14-3. Arian Foster ran another 18-yd TD run to make it 21-3 Texans. At the end of the second, Andre Johnson caught a 12-yd TD pass from Matt Schaub to end the half, 28-3 Texans. In the third, Dan Carpenter kicked a 56-yd bomb to make it 28-6 Texans. Andre Johnson caught a 56-yd TD pass from Matt Schaub to extend the lead to 35-6. Dan Carpenter made a 54-yarder to make it 35-9 at the end of the third. In the fourth, Bryan Johnson of the Texans caught a 7-yd TD pass from Schaub to make it 42-9 Texans. Owen Daniels caught a 23-yd TD pass from Schaub to make it 49-9 Texans. Dan Carpenter made one final 26-yd field goal for the Dolphins. Final, 49-12 Texans prevail.

Tonight's Sunday night game was pretty entertaining. In the first, Jeremy Maclin caught a 34-yd TD pass from Michael Vick, 7-0 Eagles. Later, Roddy White caught a 6-yd TD pass from Matt Ryan to tie it at 7-7. With a little less than a minute to go in the first, Alex Henry kicked a 39-yd field goal to make it 10-7 Eagles. In the second, Steve Smith caught a 1-yd TD pass from Michael Vick to make it 17-7 Eagles. Matt Bryant of the Falcons made a 35-yd field goal to make it 17-10 Eagles. A little after the two-minute warning Michael Turner ran a 1-yd TD run to make it 17-17. The only score in the third came from a 12-yd TD pass from Chris Redman to Tony Gonzalez. 24-17 Falcons. In the fourth, Chris Redman and Tony Gonzalez connected again for a 3-yd TD pass to make it 31-17 Falcons. Alex Henery belted a 47-yarder for the Eagles to make it 31-20. Matt Bryant kicked a 43-yd kick to seal the deal 34-20 Falcons.

Tonight's Monday night game was a nail biter. In the first, Eli Manning threw a 16-yd TD pass to Hakeem Nicks to make it 7-0 Giants. In the second Josh Brown of the Rams made a 44-yd field goal 7-3 Giants. In the third, Ahmad Bradshaw ran a 5-yd TD run to make it 14-3 Giants. In the fourth, Danario Alexander caught a 5-yd TD pass from Sam Bradford and they converted for 2. 14-11 Giants. Later in the fourth, Hakeem Nicks caught another TD pass this time for 7 yds to make it 21-11. The Rams believed they were still in in though. With 16 seconds to go, Mark Clayton caught a 19-yd TD pass from Sam Bradford, but the extra point was NO GOOD! The Rams lost 21-17.
