Okay this is going to be my last update today.

June 23rd, 2009

Condrey got a rare start today due to every other available starting resting, he actually made a case to be Oilhands replacement. He pitched 5 solid innings today, Rick Ankiel hit his 5th home run of the season to make it a 1-0 game in the 3rd as the Warriors would eventually go on to win this one 3-2. The Scranton Times caught up with Condrey today and they asked him to explain his outing and what he looks to do in the future. He had this to say, "I don't think i'm a guy who can go out there and give you 7-8 innings per start, I think with my arm the way it is now unless my pitch count stays really low I think 5 is going to be the most i'll be able to go, But if the manager wants me to start thats what i'm gonna have to do." While the Scranton Times was in the locker room they also saw Oilhands cleaning out his locker, they tried to ask him a question but he quietly walked out of the locker, obviously disappointed in himself.

Key Players
Denorfia 2-4, 1 Run
Greene- 2-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI
Ankiel- 1-3, 1 HR, 1 RBI

Key Pitchers
Condrey- 5 1/3 IP, 7 H, 3 SO, 1 ER WIN(3-0)
Sain- 1 2/3 IP, 2 H, 1 ER
Seanez- 1 IP, 1 H, 0 SO
Rocket- 1 IP, 1 H, 1 SO (SV) (20)

You gotta be kidding me. I pick Howard, He doesn't hit a HR. But great job so far.

It was heartbreak hotel today for the Warriors. Steve Screws pitches has another great start and pitches 8 scoreless and in the 9th inning the Warriors give up two home runs to lose the game 2-1. The Warriors had 11 hits today but left tons of runners on base and weren't able to score anything. Hochevar got the nod in the 9th instead of usual closer Rocket and the gamble didn't pay off. Sure handed knuckleballer Patrick Star came in after Hochevar gave up a bomb, and in just his 2nd pitch he gave up the walk off home run on a mistake pitch. The Scranton Times caugh up with the Warrior's manager after the game and asked him about the decision to not use Rocket. "I just wasn't thinking, this game is all on me. I should have used Rocket, believe it or not, I thought the way the other team was swinging the bat through the first 8 innings I just didn't think it mattered who i stuck out there, boy did they ever prove me wrong".

Final Score: Scranton Warriors 1, Omaha Terriers 2

Key Players
Deafface- 2-5, 1 2B
Q.Portis- 1-4, 1 SB
Eckstein- 2-4, 1 Run

Key Pitchers
S.Screws- 8 IP, 4 H, 9 SO, 0 ER
Hochevar- 0 2/3 IP, 1 H, 1 SO, 1 ER
Patrick Star- 0 IP, 1 H, 1 ER Loss(8-3)

It looked like another brutal day for the offense, and another great day for the pitching staff. Gorzelanny pitched 7 solid innings in his first start since coming off his 2nd stay on the DL this season. The Warriors were shut out for 8 innings until the bats decided to come alive in the 9th and score 3 runs to go on to win 3-1. Rookie pitcher Sain got his first win as a major leaguer today as he pitched a great 8th. Otto Rocket came in and got his 21st save of the year to end the game as the Warriors avenge a heart breaking loss from yesterday. When Gorzelanny was asked how he felt out there he had this to say "I felt great, my elbow i think is 100% now. When I came back off the DL the first time i just thought i overworked it and it got tweaked again. But now, i'm good."

Key Players
Deafface- 2-4, 1 RBI, 1 Run
Howard- 0-4, 1 RBI
Ankiel- 2-4, 1 RBI

Key Pitchers
Gorzelanny- 7 IP, 5 H, 1 SO, 1 ER
Sain- 1 IP, 0 H, 2 SO WIN(1-0)
Rocket- 1 IP, 0 H, 0 SO

June 28th, 2009*TEAM NEWS*

The Scranton Warriors have released a statement on the status of Jim Oilhands. "We have had several meeting with everyone in the front office, and even one with Jim Oilhands, and we have decided that this will be the last year Oilhands will be with the team. But we do not plan on trading him this year. We will however leave him in AAA for a few more weeks so he can get some much needed rest, when he comes back he will be moved down to the last spot in the rotation."(he was 3rd before he was demoted). This comes as a huge surprise for most of the Warriors fans after it was pretty much set in stone that he was gone. Scranton had even cancelled Oilhand's bobblehead night that was set for later next month, they still have no plans on doing a bobbledhead night for him. The Scranton Times caught up with him and asked him how he was going to handle all this pressure. "you know, I've been pitching for a long time in a lot of different leagues and I've never thrown this bad, so I feel like I have nowhere to go but up. So there really isn't any pressure."

Reporter: "What are your expectations for the rest of the season?"

Ian: "Well i've talked to the manager of the Warriors and he thinks i'll mostly be a mop-up man this year and he said he will give me a shot at making the starting rotation next year."

Reporter: "Can you give us an estimate of what you think your stats will look like at the end of the year?"

It was another hard loss to swallow for the Warriors today as they couldn't find a way to hold onto a early 3-0 lead. the final score was the Omaha Terriers 5, the Scranton Warriors 4. Rookie pitcher Ian Riley got his first ever appearance in the big leagues today and it probably didn't go how he planned, his first pitch he gave up a lead off double which ended up scoring as he gave up one earned run in one inning pitched. Ryan Braun was able to break out of his slump as he went 2-4 with one HR, and one RBI. Xavier Nady hit a 3 run home run in the 2nd inning, his 10th on the year. The Warriors look to bounce back after losing 2 of 3 against the Terriers. Howard is still in his awful slump but he did manage to get a hit today, he went 1-4.

Key Players
Braun- 2-4, 1 HR, 1 RBI
Nady- 1-3, 1 HR, 3 RBI

Key Pitchers
Durvisuski- 7 IP, 12 H, 6 SO, 4 ER Loss(6-3)
I.Riley- 1 IP, 2 H, 1 SO, 1 ER

I will be posting player stats for the year in about 5-10 more games so i will not be doing updates for every game because doing stats takes a lot of time.

It was finally a big day for the offense. Ryan Howard broke out of his slump and hit 3 home runs! Xavier Nady and Deafface also hit home runs. The final score was 5-1. Livings pitched a great game today as he went 6 2/3 Innings Pitched while giving up just 1 ER on 4 hits and struck out 7. Ian Riley came into his second game ever in the 8th inning and faced four left handed batters. he struck out two and only gave up 1 hit. Ryan Braun continues to struggle, he went 0-4 at the plate today but at least some good things are starting to happen with the offense.

Key Players
Howard- 3-4, 3 HR, 3 RBI
Nady- 3-4, 1 2B, 1 HR, 1 RBI
Deafface- 1-4, 1 HR, 1 RBI

Key Pitchers
Livings- 6 2/3 IP, 4 H, 7 SO, 1 ER
Patrick.S- 0 1/3 IP, 0 H, 0 SO
I.Riley- 1 IP, 1 H, 2 SO, 0 ER
Rocket- 1 IP, 1 H, 1 SO, 0 ER

With no starters ready to go today the Warriors had to start Patrick Star, his first start of the season. He was only able to go 3 innings so the Warriors had to use a lot of their bullpen. The manager said in a post game interview "We knew it was going to be a dog fight today, i thought we were going to give up at least 4 or 5 runs" the bullpen surprised the manager because the Warriors were able to beat the San Jose Hornets 5-2. Ryan Howard hit yet another home run, this time a 2 run blast over the right field fence. It was Howard's 56th home run of the year and his 4th in the last two games. Xavier Nady also checked in with his 13th home run of the year as he continues to impress everyone, The manager had this to say about Nady, "He is hitting the best on the team right now in my opinion, he is seeing everything big and he is just driving the ball better than I've ever seen him." The Warriors started the month out like they were hoping, with a win.

Key Players
Howard- 3-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI
Nady- 1-4, 1 HR, 1 RBI
A.Caberea- 3-4, 2 RBI

Pitchers
Patrick.S- 3 IP, 5 H, 1 SO, 1 R(0 earned)
Sain- 2 2/3 IP, 2 H, 1 SO, 1 ER WIN(2-1)
Seanez- 1 IP, 2 H, 0 SO, 0 ER
I.Riley- 0 1/3 IP, 0 H, 1 SO, 0 ER
Frank O.- 1 IP, 0 H, 2 SO, 0 ER
Rocket- 1 IP, 1 H, 2 SO, 0 ER (SV)(22)

Stats are going to be updated in about 30 mins to an hour.
