Kura: Well, shit, guys. We're down two games to none.

Kurihara: How in the hell did this happen? We're far better than the garbage that is the Stranglers. We should NOT be losing to them!

Kanazawa: Well, we're playing very poorly...

Kurihara: It doesn't matter. We should be beating these fools.

Ushida: Listen, everyone, listen. It's true, we're the better team on paper, that's undeniable. But, we are playing horribly, as said by Kanazawa. Ergo, we should have an impromptu player meeting, like, right now.

Oda: Hold it! Do you really think that that could solve our problems? I mean, surely this has to do with the non-existent mind of the manager that we were assigned for our stay over here in America.

???: Objection!

Kura: Hunh? Who was was that?

Oda: And why did they scream "Objection"?

???: It was me, Kura.

Kura: Jack?! Dude, what're you doing down here?

Jack: I came to see how you guys were doing. My suspicions of "not-so-good" seem to be correct. But, Ushida, you're idea is perfect. A wise man, by the name of Jun Seba, once told me that the players' camaraderie, and overall mood is the most important thing to winning in the game of baseball. Now, I expect all of you to have a nice, long talk, alright? Alright. I'm going out for some groceries, and also to talk with Pepper about having the DH in the next couple of games. Goodbye, Knights.

Knights: Goodbye, sir.

Jack left the clubhouse, and the players were left to wallow in their sadness.

Oda: Well, Ushida, what the hell do you want to talk about?

Ushida: Uh... I guess we should talk about us as a team.

Kura: A team, eh? Okay. I'll go first. We've played well for our short time in existence. And, as Jack said, it has been about us as a team. We work well together, don't all of you think?

Shimozono: Yes, exactly! We've all been able to compliment each other really well, in both terms of style of play, and personality-wise. We're just a bunch of kids, and I think that everyone knows that, so we, generally, aren't taken very seriously. But, with the way we've been playing, I'm sure that people's opinions about the Knights' will soon change.

Fukuchi: Everyone has something to contribute to the team. And everyone is important.

Shimozono: Yes, exactly!

And, thus, they spoke for 3 hours about their playing, and how they can better it. It shall be skipped, as it could get a little bit dry.

"Gah, jeez, I can't believe I've already blown through what I bought when I was with Pepper just a couple of days ago." I mumbled to myself, hoping that the person next to me wouldn't hear me
They did.
"Yeah, that's not going to do, Jackie." they said
Jackie... No one's called me that in years... I took a gander to my left, and saw someone from my past. And the instant I saw them, I got incredibly infuriated.
"Ah, shit. Dan Daniels. I didn't expect to see you again." I said to him, and upon saying that, I thought to myself, how did I see him, didn't we break the whole time continuum with me coming here? Don't I not exist here...?
"Jackie, Jackie, Jackie. It's been awhile since I've seen you." he snarkily said is his horrid, nasally voice.
"Yeah, and I was hoping that it would stay that way."
"Hehkehheh, Jackie. Always the jokester. Kehhhhhhhhhkehkeh."
"Why are you here, Dan?"
"Just grabbing some stuff for tonight, if you know what I mean, kehhhhehhheh."
Please note, he had some interesting things in his little thing. What's that called again? Welp, I can't remember...
"Oh, god, that's disgusting... Dan... Who would... With you...? Oh lord."
"Well, Jackie, boy. I guess I'll be seeing you. Kehhhhhhhehhhhehhh."
And he walked away. Praise the lord.

I went to the counter, paid for my things, and left the store.

I need to go and talk to Pepper, I should call him. I called him, and it went to voicemail.


Nice and brief, perfect.
"Hey Pepper, it's Jack. I have something that I have to speak with you about. Get back to me when you can."

And that was that.

I went home, and caught some z's.
