Well, the Eagles have just called up the incredible power threat, Takahiro Imanami. He's a catcher, but will most likely be occupying the DH role, since his fielding is pretty awful.

Takahiro Imanami - C
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
21, N/A, R/R, 4, C, A (99!), D, D, E, C
Bio: He's a no-nonsense kind of guy, and also takes everything very seriously. His power was feared in the minors, but his lack of fielding ability has kept him down in the minors. Until now, that is.
Personality: No-nonsense, serious

Great. He and Sanchez will be quite annoying.

Preston scouted (I made) Imanami earlier, but he didn't seem like a fit for the Knights because Shimozono was raking when he scouted him. He'll certainly be a guy to watch out for, if my experience with him is any indication.

Knights Nightmare

Image
Image – Roy Leon

Osaka Dome, Osaka – The Knights were beat last night, and they were beat bad. By a score of 8-4, the Knights gained their 33rd loss on the season. Swing man, Jun Ohtonari, took the mound in a spot start role to relieve Shima for the day. Manager Kensou Mori commented on why Shima didn’t pitch, saying “he said he wasn’t feeling good, and Shima’s not one to stretch the truth. Like, ever.” Ohtonari didn't do so well, letting up 7 runs in 7 1/3 innings, but, he struck out 6, showing that his curveball is still a pretty good weapon to use.

More than half of the Buffaloes’ runs came from the bat of Roy Leon, who went 3-4 with 3 homeruns, and 5 RBI. After the game, he was quoted as saying “My bat, it speaks to me, you know? I just, I just, it was giving me good vibes today.”

That’s Ninety!

Miyagi Stadium, Sendai – The Knights have got it, they’ve got their 90th win. It came in a back and forth game against the Eagles. The Knights pulled it off though; they grabbed victory from the clutches of defeat!

In the second, Shimozono was hit an easy linedrive, with 2 outs, which would’ve ended the inning, but, HE DROPPED IT. 2 runs would come in, and the Eagles would take an early lead. “Yeah. That was pretty bad.” He said, after the game. Luckily, though, it ended up not affecting the Knights in the end.

In the 3rd, with 2 outs, and bases loaded, Kanazawa drove in 2 with an RBI double, getting his 99th and 100th RBIs!

Also, backup second/first baseman/DH, Shun Tohno went 5-5 with a double, a homerun, and 4 RBI! Amazing! “I was really seeing the ball well today, and, also, I got pretty lucky with some of the pitches I got!” He said afterwards.

Kanazawa Gets 1,000

Seibu Dome, Tokorozawa, Saitama – This game wasn’t all too special, save for Kanazawa’s 1,000th career at bat! It came in the top of the 7th, and, what else, it came on a homerun to dead center on a 1-2 count. “I wasn’t even aware that I had already had 999 at bats,” Kanazawa said “I’m glad that I was able to get to 1,000 with a bang!”

The Knights ended up winning the game by a score of 6-3.

23:10

I've been feeling horrendously lethargic the past week or so. So, naturally, I decided that I should sleep later.
I've been waking up consistently at 6 for work for the past 6 years. But... Why am I doing this?

I thought to myself for about 20 minutes, and then fell into a deep slumber on my desk.

0:53

When I woke up, it was almost 1.

"Wait.
Where am I?" I thought to myself as I awoke on a white chaise, seeing the new "team relaxer" Jun Seba sitting behind a desk, still dressed in his white collared shirt and khaki shorts.
He had his headphones on as he read the newspaper.

I opened my mouth to say something, but just as I did, Jun said "We're doing pretty well, don't you think?"
"Uh... yeah, we're leading the Pacific lead by more than 20 games, so..."
"Why are we doing so well?"
"Well... Um... That's probably because of how well the players are doing?"
"No.

Well, partially, yes. But, it's mainly because of the camaraderie between all the guys in the clubhouse. They're all just a bunch of kids having a good time. Kura's a wild one, he tends to fire everyone up before the game. Kurihara leads the pack in the actual game, what with his exciting way of playing the game, he entices everyone. Fujii's intelligence, and baseball sense, along with Ushida's, keeps everyone informed. Shimozono's kindness shines through, and makes even the arrogant Reiza act kindly to others. And Nomoto keeps them all in line with his aura of authority. You see Jack, it's the players that make the team. Not the managers, not the front office, nothing but the players."
"Why are you telling me this, Jun?"
"No reason in particular. Although, I know you weren't completely agreeing in my explanation just now. Think about it, though. What can we do on the field? Nothing, that's all the players."
"No, no, I see your point, Jun. But, why did you tell me?"
"No reason, as I said. Jack, you're feeling pretty lethargic as of late, right?"
"Uh... Yeah, how'd you know?"
"I know things. Regardless, Jack, how are you planning on amending the situation?"
"Well, uh, sleeping more, I suppose."
"I thought so. Jack, a wise man once said 'sleep is the cousin of death.' Sleep can be interpreted as being a temporary "death". You're not aware of anything; your senses are more in tune with the subconscious than what might be happening around you while sleeping. And, I know that it's important for your health, sure, but, Jack you've been getting a satisfactory amount of sleep for the majority of life, have you not?"
"I guess so, yes."
"Good. What use would it be to add more sleep to that? You get your 8 hours, you don't need any more than that, do you?"
"I suppose that I don't, no."
"Good. My lesson has sunk in."
And, he picked up his newspaper once again, turned on his music, and put his feet up on his desk.

I didn't know what to do.
"Uh..." I murmured
"Oh, right, the door's right behind you."
"Oh, haha, right. Okay, see you Jun."
"Bye, Jack." he said without looking away from his newspaper
When I walked out the door, I got to my office picked up my things, and looked at the clock.

It read 0:54.

...

What in the hell just happened?

Blue Stadium, Sakyō-ku, Kyoto – What a wacky game this last one was for the Knights, it featured starting pitcher, Tsukiya Yamato, in the starting lineup, batting ninth, and DHing, Hiyama coming in in the 8th, getting the 6 out save, and Shen getting his 20th win! Yamato was, perhaps, the most surprising. He ended up going 1-3 in his inaugural DH appearance, with a homerun! “Yeah, I was actually pretty shocked about that myself, but Hirano threw me a hanging changeup, and I had to jump on it. I guess the ball just hit my bat!” he said after the game.

On getting his league leading 20th win, Shen commented “It wasn’t a pretty one, but it got the job done.”

Hiyama on coming in to close out the game “I wasn’t even in the bullpen when Mori told me, I was surprised to say the least. I don’t think I’ve ever come in to close a game. But, hey, it seemed to work out alright, and having a save to my name is pretty great too!”

Kurihara also went 4-4 in the game, driving in 4 runs, and hitting 2 homeruns too, he had this to say: “I think my practicing with a golf ball has really helped me. My average isn’t what I’m used to, but this game surely helped it out a bit!”

Kurihara is batting a career-worst .320...
