I was thinking of doing a Dream Draft log with the same rosters I used for this log. In the log, I would be simming every game and just giving updates after every month or so or when transactions happen. It would help with getting to know some of the AL players I made that the Slayers may not get a chance to face. There will be agents, and if you guys want, coaches as well.

Should I do it? It won't be taking much time away from me doing this log.

Oh, and an update is on the way.

I would say don't do it. I think it's best to have one great log because when you have a second, it tends to bring the quality down on both

Sacramento Slayers 7 - Vancouver Whalers 0

SUMMARY: Despite the score, this was actually a pretty good pitchers' duel. Until the 6th inning, that is. The scoring started when Jose Bautista hit a dribbler to second (Yes, he is capable of hitting dribblers. To the opposite field. OK?) with runners on the corners. Second baseman Van Johnson threw home to try to get Martin Prado, the man on third, but it was not in time. After that, Adam Lind hit a no-doubt 3-run shot to right field, giving the Slayers a 4-0 lead, knocking starter Kai Davis out of the game. They tacked on an extra run off of a wild pitch by reliever Kiyoshi Furukawa, scoring Jeff Francoeur from third. It was Shaun Marcum's day today, as he shut out the Whalers for 8 strong innings despite having nowhere near his best stuff. The Slayers avoid the sweep, and they go into next series against the Louisville Dragons needing to rely on their pitching, as they have to deal with one of the best power threats in the game.

After the game, GM/Manager Preston Greene announced that "there will be changes made" to the Slayers. It is unclear what those changes are at the moment (to you guys at least), but we should learn about them before the upcoming series. Either way, a good win for the Slayers, it's nice to see the bats waking up a bit.

UPCOMING SERIES

Sacramento Slayers (15-8) vs. Louisville Dragons (10-13)

The Slayers will be facing the Dragons for the first time this season. This series marks the start of a 6-game homestand lasting until the end of the month.

Alex Warner, 3B, #5, R/R, 28 years old
4 TRJ, B CON, A PWR, D RUN SPD, B ARM STR, B FLD, A E RES
GM REPORT: So at the end of last game's summary, I mentioned that Slayers pitching will have to deal with "one of the best power threats in the game." Well, this was the guy I was talking about when I made that statement. He has no weaknesses. He may end up getting walked on more than half of his PAs because I am that scared of him. Even moreso than I am of McBride. (sorry for the first-person narrative on this part, but he is THAT good) As for his stats, well, he reaches base over half the time he makes a plate appearance (.509 OBP), and he leads the Dragons with a .421 average, 6 HR, and 40 RBIs.

Teddy Arnold, RF, #39, R/R, 31 years old
3 TRJ, B CON, C PWR, D RUN SPD, D ARM STR, B FLD, A E RES
GM REPORT: Arnold has been another offensive threat for the Dragons. He has one of the best jobs in the game, and that's hitting in front of Alex Warner. As a result, he's seeing pitches to hit, and boy, is he hitting. He currently is second on the Dragons with a .418 average, and leads the team with a .514 OBP. Arnold is a free agent after this season, and if he continues to rake like this, he stands to make one last big contract heading into his age 32 season.

Dave Taylor, SP, #31, R/R, 33 years old
92 TOP SPD, B CTRL, A STAM, H-SNK 5, PALM 2, DCB 4
GM REPORT: Now, you may ask, with these 2 beasts in the lineup, how are the Dragons below .500? Well, Taylor has the lowest ERA of any Dragons SP so far. He is their #1 starter, after all. However, his ERA sits at 4.50. Yup, that's how bad the Dragons' pitching has been. I've said that the Ham Bones have had bad pitching, but you could make the case that the Dragons have even worse. Either way, it's good to be a hitter in the NL Central, that's for sure. Anyways, Taylor is a key to this series because of that sinker. If he can get it working well in Game 1, it will give the Dragons a lot of momentum for the rest of the series.

PROJECTED PITCHING MATCHUP:

Game 1: C. J. Wilson (3-0, 1.84) vs. D. Taylor (1-2, 4.50)
Game 2: B. Morrow (0-1, 7.11) vs. Clark Campbell (96 TOP SPD, G CTRL, B STAM, 2SFB 1, SLD 2, SNK 1; 1-0, 9.90)
Game 3: J. Jurrjens (3-1, 3.09) vs. Mickey Belmont (97 TOP SPD, C CTRL, A STAM, H-SLD 4, DCB 6, CCHG 3; 1-2, 6.91)

And also, if you bothered to read the note I added at the end of last game, the changes are that Zobrist is moving to shortstop, Prado is moving to second, and Morse is moving to left field.

SLAYERS NOTIFICATION

C.J. Wilson will not be starting the series opener against the Dragons today. His start will be pushed back tomorrow for Game 2. Joba Chamberlain will make the spot start in place of Wilson.

Sacramento Slayers 3 - Louisville Dragons 4

SUMMARY: A tough loss for the Slayers today, as the bullpen and defense let them down today. The scoring started in the top of the 4th inning when Alex Warner obliterated a Joba Chamberlain fastball down the left field line for a solo home run. However, in the bottom of the same inning, the Slayers answered right back with a 2-run shot by Ben Zobrist, scoring Martin Prado. With a 2-1 score in the top of the 7th, Mike Morse makes a crucial error in left field off a fly ball by first baseman Jacob Bell, putting him on second.
The next batter, CF Arthur Haywood, doubled into left field, scoring pinch runner Mikhail Taylor and tying the game at 2. In the top of the 9th, second baseman Rocky Hood gave the Dragons a 3-2 lead with a solo home run to lead off the inning. Later, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and 1 out, catcher Kenji Takeuchi hit a groundout to Zobrist, scoring the runner from third. This insurance run was crucial because Adam Lind homered off of Dave Taylor in the bottom of the 9th to make it a 4-3 game. However, Taylor got a complete game by getting Mike Morse to fly out to Haywood in center. Hopefully the team can forget this game for the rest of the series.

DRAGONS' PITCHING
D. Taylor - 9 IP, 6 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 3 ER, 4.03 (W, 2-2) (Co-Player of the Game)

Jose Bautista has been slumping recently. The team needs his bat to wake back up in order to win. On a brighter note, Martin Prado has a 13-game hitting streak going right now.
