Paul Shuts out Pirates

Today Paul was miraculous, again. He faced rookie pitcher Erdos today.

The Stranglers scored in the first again today. Ringo Starr singled, Chris Kennedy then followed with a single of his own.

The next inning, John Lennonhit a single Two batters later, George Harrison singled. Pablo then hit a two out double to make it 2-0 Stranglers.

The Stranglers scored another run in the third. Kennedy got on base with another single. He advanced to second with a steal and got to third on a Ryan Howard groundout. Mick Kavger then hit a sacrifice fly to bring Kennedy home.

Paul was still pitching masterfully and only gave up his first base runner in the sixth with a pinch hit single coming from Great Spier.

George Harrison hit an opposite field bomb in the seventh going into the right field stands.

Paul finished off his complete game shut out with no walks with his eleventh strikeout of the game.

Scranton: 4
Pittsburg: 0

WP: Paul McCartney 13-5
LP: Erdos 2-2
MVP: Paul McCartney

Not at all, not at all. I would like to see everyone's top logs. Maybe in the general chat topic, though...

Stranglers Use Long Ball to Win Again

Today, Yu Darvish will try to follow Paul's lead he set yesterday. He was facing Evan Meek and the Pirates so it wouldn't be too hard to accomplish.

In the first, Chris Kennedy reached on a single. Ryan Howard followed and hit a home run to left-center field. With that home run, Ryan tied Chris Kennedy for the league lead in homers.

The next inning, the Pirates got to Yu. Yu was throwing fastballs and it was getting really predictable. The next pitch, Adam LaRoche slammed into next week. Really, there was a boat on the water outside of PNC Park called next week. How 'bout that? The score was 2-1 Stranglers.

The Stranglers didn't score again until the sixth. Howard, who went 4-5 today, got on with a single. Mick Jagger then blasted the ball into Tommorrow. There was a little girl outside the park singing Tommorrow. Go figure, eh? The score was 4-1 Scranton.

The very next inning, Sanchez reached on a single. Ringo Starr then hit a triple to bring him home all the way from first. Chris Kennedy hit a double to bring Starr home. 6-1 Scranton.

In the eighth, Reginald McLeary came in to pinch hit. He singled and Pablo brougt him home after he stole second. The Stranglers scored their last run 7-2.

Prior came on to finish off the last two innings. He had trouble, but a lot of help from his defense getting a full-extention diving catch from Keith Richards in left, a leaping catch from Kennedy in center and a beautiful outfield assist from George Harrison. The defense limited the damage to one run and Scranton beat there other in-state rivals, 7-2.

Sidenotes: Chris Kennedy and Ryan Howard are tied for three on the list for most home runs in a season with 40. Chris Kennedy is tied for tenth on the all time most RBI in a season list. Kennedy is tied for fifth on the most doubles in a season list with 48. On the pitcher's side of things, Paul McCartney and Yu Darvish are tied for second for most complete games with 5. Paul McCartney is tied for third on the shutouts list with 4.

The Stranglers' magic number is 16. With the way they're playing, it looks like they'll kick the competition way back to last Wednesday. What are you looking at me like that for? It's an expression!

WP: Yu Darvish 11-2
LP: Evan Meek 2-6
MVP: Yu Darvish

It's September!

Well today is September call-ups, but before we must tell you about the playoff roster cuts made. The Stranglers decided to send down Jordan Tata and Echevarria. Both pitchers they were relying on. Echevarria is a rookie who the Stranglers have been very heavily relyig on. Some say too much. Harry Jones of the Scranton Times Tribune stated,
"Look, the kid's got great stuff, but he isn't ready for it. Take it slow with him. The kids got a 6.99 ERA in September in a lot of outings. And then they send him down? Look guys, one way or the other. They could ruin this kid's mentality."

Tata and Echevarria were replaced with Eric Bruntlett and Gregg Dobbs. Both were very ecstatic about helping the team with their title run.

In other news, Kennedy and Howard are still neck and neck in the home run race. They are now tied at 42 home runs. Paul McCartney leads the league in ERA at 2.87. Yu Darvish is second with a 3.33 ERA. Paul McCartney is also second in strikeouts with 282.

My next update will be at Wrigley with the Cubs.

Howard would love to win MVP. Even more endorsement deals for him (as if he needs any more)! However, he would be happy with simply winning a Silver Slugger as long as one of his Stranglers teammates wins the MVP.

Speaking of MVPs, Paul feels he is more than qualified to win. If Verlander won, he should as well!

His primary goals are finishing the season with 300+ Ks and the Pitching Triple Crown, goals he feels he can easily achieve as long as his foot problems don't act up.
