Contract Negotiations and Free Agency:

The Superstars resigned their whole team, nobody wanted too outrageous of a salary and all of them only signed contracts for 1 year.

In Free Agency, the Superstars picked up Vladimir Guerrero, Braden Looper, and Orlando Hudson. Looper and Hudson signed for 3 years, while Guerrero signed for 2. What the Superstars plan to do with these players is a complete unknown, apart from Looper. The Superstars seem to already be set in everywhere except their pitching.

Offseason Trades:

In a lengthy series of trades, the Superstars have traded away their former captain, Mario, and in return got back:

Cliff Lee
Dan Haren
Aaron Harang
Bronson Arroyo
Victor Martinez
Great Kennedy

"I really have no clue what I'm doing here with these trades, to be quite honest."

-The General Manager awkwardly commented before walking away from an interview.

These trades all substantially increased they payroll of the team. The team is making almost 3 times as much money as they were making last year and many great players are in spots that don't really suit them.

Wow. You traded Mario. At least you got some pretty good players in return.

Yeah, I started off by realizing: "Hmm, when I think about it, I really don't need him anymore, and I could use a starting pitcher or 2 seeing as Nomo was bad and is getting worse."

Next thing I know I have 4 more starting pitchers and 2 more fielders I can't possibly find any use for and my team salary is going through the roof. That general manager comment was very accurate, I really have no idea what I'm going to do from here. Whether I can trade some of them away for cheaper relief pitching or if I just get desperate and sell some players, I really don't want to leave the salary up at 86000.

There are a lot of players I specifically want, but they all currently fall under the "unattainable" curse, where you can offer 3 of your best players and all your money and the rating never goes higher than 1 star. I was going to go after starting pitchers like Zach Duke and Luke Johnson.

Superstars sell Toadsworth:

In a move that seems purely for the purpose of getting rid of some salary, the Superstars have sold Toadsworth to the Red Sox for 11000 points.

"This is a bit of a mess of a roster, to be quite honest. If the other GMs weren't so flat-out unreasonable all the time, I would definitely be working to make trades to fix things up by getting rid of excess players while filling some holes and dumping salary. I'm still going to try to fix things up, but it really isn't going to be easy unless the other GMs want to consider trading at some point."

You traded Mario in a log based on Mario Superstar Baseball? You did get some good players in return though.

My trading him was entirely based on the thought that I had too many players, and he never really lived up to expectations at any point.

Of course as you would notice by that list I got way more players than I gave up, so that really didn't help with the whole "I have too many players" problem much...

I supposed Luigi has to be the team captain now, though he probably deserved it even if Mario stayed.

I honestly prefer Luigi to Mario, in pretty much every respect.

Moi aussi. Who liked my french there? Luigi just seems cooler to me. And he wears a green suit. My favorite color is green.

I liked your French, Paul. I liked it.

And also, Luigi can jump higher! Amazing.

Luigi has great hops definitely. He is taller than Mario too so he could dunk all over him all day. I believe in Luigi for team captain!

I don't know if I mentioned this before, but my uniform designs with this team are based on Mario and Luigi, with the home uniforms being more red and blue (I think they're part blue anyway), and the away ones having more green.

And I prefer Luigi in this case because he's just a better hitter, both in this log and the Mario Superstar Baseball game I based it on. The whole jumping higher thing doesn't really help him much being a catcher, and as far as the colors go, they're on a major league team now, so they all have to wear the same at all times. If My Life mode is any indication, they cannot remove their uniforms for any reason, they must wear them at home, at restaurants, at the movies, when playing darts... EVERYWHERE.

I considered guys like Yoshi for captain at some point, but I ultimately decided it would be best to give it to someone who can speak better English.

Wait... Is wearing your uni everywhere wrong? I've found that chicks dig it. They must think I'm funny because they laugh every time I pass. :D Oh, and, as Yoshi's lawyer, we're going to sue for languagebarrierism. You better watch out!
