The rules I think should be put into place:

1. We keep going...forever.
2. Something, and at that something meaningful, must be posted under each number.
3. No double posting; however you may bump this thread if it ever becomes inactive (not via DP!!!)

Like dtigers said, it seems ridiculous to do anything other than drop the topic. What's the point of continuing since we already put it down to 10 thousand so it could end? Why would we start over from one considering this was a goal to reach, not something to just keep recycling? Besides, when someone actually posts something meaningful it should just go in Forum Member Updates.

MY suggestion is to make a General Chat thread, where people can converse about whatever they want whenever they want. On every other forum I use, there's one of these, and there can be quite a few conversations going on at each time, and you don't have to type in a number before anything.

I say we keep going, and just see how long this stays active. It's been active almost a year now, and I wonder how high the number will be after two years.

Indeed we are Paul The general chat thing we had sound like a good idea to me too. That's what we all want this board to be like, so why not just make a board without the numbers. Besides, if you really wanted to know what number we would have been on, you could just check the number of posts.

If you guys REALLY want to continue counting, then make a thread solely for that purpose. That's what I've seen on other forums as well.

ALSO, I'm going to pitch the idea to DS: To make a forum where post count doesn't increase for games and other randomness. I've seen it done before and it works well.

Everything discussed so far has given me a pretty good idea of what I would want.

I would prefer the whole number thing to be dropped altogether, especially if a forum without post counts wasn't made. If a forum where posts didn't count was made, the topic should be made just for numbers and nothing else, so I can just mark the forums read without looking at the number topic and not miss anything.

Then, there should be a general chat/conversation thread, since this forum simply doesn't seem active enough to have an actual chatroom work, and even then, a topic might be better for it because then people can come in at any time without missing anything.
