The Sluggers selected Tigers starting pitcher Ryan Techer in the Expansion Draft. Techer, 20, throws a low-90s fastball with good life, a knuckleball, and a slow curve called the "Slowball". He started 10 games between AA and AAA, and ended up with a 2-4 record, an ERA of 1, and 75 strikeouts. He also threw a perfect game in AAA, against the GuavaStrawberrys, striking out 12. Sluggers manager-GM Joe Shlabotnik, a former player himself, commented: "Techer pitched well against both levels. We feel as if he is a solid #2 or #3 starter for our team."

The Sluggers have drafted Rangers reliever Vasili Matfey. Matfey, 22, is a knuckleballing lefty who gets a lot of strikeouts. He throws a low-70s fastball and a tremendous knuckler. He also has amazing stamina as he pitched 4 complete games and came 1 out shy of two in the AAA season. In AA, Matfey went 0-1 in 5 starts with a brilliant 0.38 ERA and 20 strikeouts. In AAA, he started 6 games, going 3-3 with a 4.66 ERA and 34 strikeouts.

The rarest feat ever accomplished by any prospect.

Unintentional, mind you.

My newest player (sub OF Rhodes) drew a 4-pitch, unintentional walk in his first AA at-bat (against Wall, who has B control...)

I drew a walk in the last game I played, I think it took about 5 pitches when I was hitting with my pitcher, there were a few other 3-ball counts besides that as well.

What would Matfey's password be? He must be pretty much perfect, with that Release 4 ability, which makes him less prone to steals despite how his fastball wouldn't hit 70 MPH on most days.

I'll get it up ASAP (as soon as my parents are out of the house for 15+ minutes).

Why do your parents need to be out?

The Sluggers signed free-agent outfielder Rusty Rhodes. Rhodes, 25, played one season for the IBL's El Paso Rawhides before the league's collapse, and played two seasons for the Reds' AA and AAA affiliates before refusing an outright assignment to AA after Spring Training. Rhodes hit .467 with 3 doubles and 2 RBI, also drawing a walk, in 5 games with the AA GreenApples. He also batted .375 with a double, 3 triples, and 4 RBI in AAA. When asked if he had any demands, Rhodes stated "Me like wolf."

Sorry, but about the walk thing, I've been intentionally walked 2 times in Success Mode.
