I decided to throw a PARTY!!!!! But soon after it started, Mom came home and made everyone leave. She also grounded me for a week from everything EXCEPT school baseball practice and going to school.

I don't think you were, anyways...

I decided to work on my contact and felt a smidge of improvement. After practice, Coach told us the starting lineup for the first game. Here's what it looked like:

1. Drew Jacobson CF
2. James Rines DH
3. Mike Thompson 1B
4. Ralf Jones 3B
5. Steve Pazoulli SS
6. Jordan Roberts LF
7. Michael Johnson RF
8. Rob Jenkins C
9. Jeremiah Yu 2B
John Rogers P

After that, I went home.

Today is the first game! I'm so pumped! I got to the field and warmed up. We were playing against the Eastside Bulldogs. The Bulldogs were up first, going 3 up, 3 down by a strikeout, strikeout and ground out to third. Then our team went to the plate. Drew led of with a single to short right field, but got out at second on James's ground out. James, however, made it to first. Mike followed up with a single that pushed James to third. Ralf came to the plate and struck out to make it two away. Then it was my turn. I was up against Josiah Jenkins, a Junior that could throw about 90 and had a good slider. I stepped in. What should I do?

CHOOSE WISELY!!!!!
A. Go for the fastball
B. Wait for the slider
C. Bunt
D. Swing on the first pitch

I decided to go for the fastball and got one on the first pitch that I lined up the middle for a single. James scored, but Mike was stuck at second. The next batter was Jordan Roberts, our left fielder. With a 2-2 count, he hit a double to right-center field. I rounded third. What should I do?

A. Try to score
B. Stay at third
C. Charge the catcher
D. Fall flat on my face intentionally

I decided to try to score and, as the throw came in, I hit the dirt. "SAFE!" yelled the ump. Success! The score was now 3-0 as Michael came to the plate and struck out to end the inning. Things skimmed by until my next at-bat in the top of the 3rd. The score was 3-2 in our favor. Mike was on 3rd with one out. Josiah had been pulled for his brother, Jonathan Jenkins, who could also throw about the same speed as his brother, but had a good Slurve and a solid Knuckleball. What should I do?

A. Wait for the Knuckle
B. Wait for the Slurve
C. Go for the Fastball
D. Suicide Squeeze
E. Go home and never play again.

 Don't I know it! Anyways...

I decided to wait for the slurve and with a 1-1 count, I hit a deep shot to left field. However, the right fielder, playing deep just in case, caught it at the warning track. Mike made it home to make it a 4-2 game. John was pitching well, but was pulled in the bottom of the 5th for Trey Cantrell, a lefty with a good curve and a fastball in the upper 80's. The first batter at the plate, Jonathan, hit a liner to my right. What should I do?

A. Dive
B. Try to catch without diving
C. Let 3rd baseman get it
D. Walk the other way
