I went to school as usual and went to practice as usual. What should I work on?

I decided to work on my contact. After working on my contact, Coach announced that there would be a contest starting today for the starting position at short. The first competition would be fielding. We would see how many balls out of 5 we could catch. Coach started by hitting a sharp liner to James' right, which James narrowly missed. Coach then hit a liner to my left that would possibly be out of glove reach without making a dive. What should I do?

CHOOSE WISELY!!!!!
A. Dive
B. Try to catch it without diving
C. Try to catch it bare-handed
D. Run in front of it, get hit and go home

I decided to dive and caught it (+2)! Coach then hit a sharp grounder to James which he fielded cleanly. Coach hit the same to me, which I also fielded cleanly (+1). Me and James fielded the rest cleanly. After we finished, Coach announced the second competition: Hitting For Contact. We would be pitched ten balls and see how many we could hit. I stepped in first. What should I do?
