The Nashville Predators have officially traded second baseman Lockwood for the Giants' second baseman, Frandsen. After the announcement was released, Power Pros News caught up with the GM, Anthony Palmer, on why he made the trade.
"We've had our eyes on Frandsen for a while, he said,"We thought he could contribute to this team massively. We wish Lockwood the best and hope he has a good career. And who knows? We may bring him back when he becomes a free agent."

House SP

The Rays began the scoring in the top of the second with an Upton solo HR to take a 1-0 lead.

The Preds attempted to bounce back in the third after Obradovic led of the inning with a single, and, after a Dellucchi single to put men on the corners and a Brazell fielder's choice to load the bases, succeded on a Frandsen 2 RBI single that left men on the corners and gave the Preds a 2-1 lead. A.J. then followed it up with a 2 RBI double to deep center field to give the preds a 4-1 lead with no outs (and yes, I'm still on expert). Polamalu stepped up to the plate and popped out to short to give the Rays an out, then ended the inning with Bowie flying out to center and A.J. getting on an attempt to tag and go.

The Rays attempted a comeback when Crawford drove in a run on a double to make it 4-2, and was driven in on a Pena 2 run HR to right field to tie the game 4-4. House was then pulled for Stratton, who proceeded to cause Upton to ground out to short to end the inning with a tied ball game.

The Preds attempted to take the lead again in the top of the seventh, when Colangelo led off the inning with a double to right field. Obradovic succeded in driving the runner in with a single to right-center field to take a 5-4 lead. After another single, Brazell grounded into a double play to put a runner at third and two out for Frandsen, who drove in the run with a single to center and give the Preds a 6-4 lead. A.J. followed up with a double off the left field wall to put two in scoring position, and they were both driven in by a Polamalu double to deep left field. However, Polamalu got out trying to stretch it into a triple. Score: 8-4 Preds lead.

The Rays bounced back with two outs in the eighth when Iwamura hit a solo HR to left field to make the score 8-5 Preds. Stratton was still able to make Crawford ground out to first to end the inning.

In the ninth, Stratton kept his cool and struck out Crawford to begin the inning. After forcing a groundout to second, Gomes grounded out to short to end the game.

Final Score: Rays 5, Predators 8. Player of the game: Obradovic, who drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 7th.

After the game, Power Pros News caught up with Stratton and asked how it felt to get his first pro win.
"It feels amazing," he said. "I'm still surprised that we pulled it off, but I'm very happy."

In an official press release, the Nashville Predators have released minor league third baseman Raines to pick up starting pitcher Anthony Palmer--who is not at all related to the GM.
"I personally think that Anthony can help us," said the GM,"I wish Raines the best, but I still think Anthony's nasty Palmer Curve is going to strike out plenty."

Predators @ Orioles Oriole Park
Lineup
1. Brazell SS
2. Frandsen 2B
3. A.J. RF
4. Polamalu C
5. Bowie 1B
6. Stark 3B
7. Colangelo DH
8. Dellucchi LF
9. Obradovic CF
Arellano SP

The Orioles came out swinging in the bottom of the first, beginning with Roberts and Mora hitting back-to-back singles to put runners on the corners and no outs. After Mora stole second, Markakis struck out for the first out. Huff then hit an RBI single to right field. Scott followed up with an RBI single of his own to put runners on the corners. After a fielder's choice loaded the bases, the next batter grounded into a double play.

The Preds would bounce back, however, as Polamalu led off the second with a HR to center field. Bowie followed with a single. Stark then hit a double to left-center field to drive in Bowie and tie the game 2-2. Colangelo then drove in Stark with a double of his own to take a 3-2 lead. And the hitting continued as Dellucchi hit an RBI double to center field and Obradovic drove him in with another double to take a 5-2 lead. After a pitcher swap, Brazell hit a double but Obradovic got out going home. Frandsen then grounded out to second to advance the runner for A.J., who hit a single to drive in the run and give the Preds a 6-2 lead. On the next at-bat, Polamalu hit a 2 run shot to center field. Bowie flew out to center to end the inning with a Preds 8-2 lead.

Brian Roberts tried to bring it back in the bottom of the inning with a 2 run HR to make it an 8-4 game. However, those were the only runs scored on the inning.

Obradovic increased the lead with runners on the corners and one out in the third by hitting an RBI single. The Preds failed to score the rest of the inning.

No runs were scored afterwards until the bottom of the fourth, when Luis Hernandez hit a 2 run double. After back-to-back singles to load the bases with no outs, Markakis hit a grounder to short and the shortstop got the out at home to leave the bases loaded with one out. Huff followed with a single to make it a 9-7 game. Sadly for the Preds, Luke Scott came to the plate and hit a grand slam to left field. Arellano was then pulled for Barton, who retired the side.

Polamalu still made it a one point game with two gone in the sixth, when he hit a solo HR.

However, with one gone in the bottom of the seventh, Great Johnson hit a solo HR to make the lead two again.

In the ninth, the Preds had to kick it up a notch, and indeed they did, as Polamalu led off the inning with a double was driven in on a game-tying 2-run Hr to center field. After a pitcher swap, Stark flew out to center field for the first out. Colangelo then grounded out to second to make it two gone. But the Preds persevered, as Dellucchi and Obradovic hit back-to-back singles to put runners on the corners with two gone. Brazell was then able to squeak a single up the middle to give the Preds a 13-12 lead. Frandsen lined out to end the inning.

After Barton was pulled for Griffiths, Huff led off with a solo HR to left. Ramon Hernandez, with a man on third and two gone, hit a single to right to win the game 14-13 Orioles and hand the Preds their first loss.

The Preds have officially waived two mminor league players. Here's what GM Anthony Palmer had to say about it: "IWe decided to release these players to clear up room for the draft. You never want to release players, but sometimes it is necessary. I wish these two players the best."
