I looked over and noticed that Mitchell, the second baseman, wasn't wearing a belt! I gave a secret signal to Mike that only we knew about and he took off on a wide path for second. He started running and then pulled Mitchell's pants down to reveal the pink boxers underneath! Mike didn't stop running, and neither did I, and I made home safely. Mitchell, oblivious to his surroundings- and the laughter from the crowd- continued to bend down for the ball. He picked it up and fired to the shortstop covering second. "Safe!" the umpire yelled. At this point Mitchell realized something was wrong and looked down. He saw that his pants had been pulled down and pulled them back up. Coach then used Collin Stewart as a pinch-hitter for his brother James. Collin took the first 3 pitches- ball one, ball two, and strike one- before swinging at the fourth pitch, a cutter. He made solid contact and the ball flew into the outfield. Mike rounded third and headed for home while Collin got to second- however, Dustin caught it and threw to second and the inning was over.

In the dugout, Coach called my name. "Yeah?" I asked him. "You're at short." He then put Collin at second and Clay behind the plate, as well as moving Mike to an unfamiliar position- first base. Peter struck out the catcher, McGee, and got Dustin to ground out. Next up was the left fielder, Zach Lawrence. Peter threw a cutter and a slider to him. 1 and 1. He followed up with a 2-seamer for strike 2. Zach then looked at a knuckleball and 4-seamer to make the count full before fouling off 2 sliders. Peter followed the sliders with a splitter, and Zach crushed it to left. Tim Cormier raced after it and made an amazing diving stop to end the inning. In the bottom of the eighth, Shane Gomes pinch-hit for Peter. He struck out looking on a curve and came back to the dugout. He put his helmet and bat up and took off his batting gloves, then muttered something to me. I think he said, "Bulls***," but I'm not sure. Anyways, then Jack and Clay both flew out to short center. Marshall came in for Mike to pitch and Shane went out to first. Marshall threw three splitters to Mitchell, who still wasn't wearing a belt, and he looked at them go by for balls one, two, and three. Clay then did the unthinkable- showed personality- and pulled Mitchell's pants down again. He was sorta embarrassed, but I guess when they've already seen your pink boxers, the embarrassment wears off? After Mitchell called time to pull his pants back up (this time the jersey was barely tucked in), Marshall threw two 4-seamers to run the count full. His next pitch was a changeup, and it was outside. Ball four. I noticed Shane (who didn't have a belt, nor were his pants buttoned up) talking to Mitchell at first. They laughed at something then Mitchell took a lead. Marshall threw over to first and Mitchell dived back, grabbing Shane's pants leg at the same time. Shane leaped for the ball and his pants came off. He didn't really care, though, and focused on making the play. He somehow grabbed the ball in mid-air and then threw to second. Mitchell was out. Shane then went over, pulled his pants over his shoes, buttoned them up, and went back to work. Connor hit a grounder to me, but I threw him out easily, and Blake Ingram struck out swinging. We all went back to the dugout and Shane mouthed the words, "What the f***?" to Jayson. We had won the game, 1-0! We lined up to shake hands. I high-fived everyone, while Shane asked Mitchell what the f*** he was doing. Mitchell said he was getting revenge and Shane punched him in the arm. I stepped in and told them to calm down, that nothing bad had happened. We finished shaking hands and I went home.

The next day we had practice and we started off with a couple rounds of BP. I did well but not as well as my competition, Luke, who hit every ball, including five opposite-field! Then Coach said it was individual practice time. Mike asked me if I wanted to practice and I said maybe. I then went over to Jayson and Shane and asked if they wanted to practice with me. They said yes and we tried to decide what to practice.

Bio: Jerry Ritter was a phenom coming out of college, who has an incredibly high top speed. He was expected to go first in the MLB draft, but he was required to get Tommy John surgery which brought him down a bit. Now he's just your average (if not slightly better than average) starting pitcher in someone's farm system.

I mean... just kind of letting it die is one thing, or even starting over with the same person, but just completely abandoning him? That's low.

I just saw the B/T, Pos, etc. thing, I just assumed Brewers had quit. I probably should have looked back but now I'm done with this one. PPFan's is enough for me, thanks.
