Looking at all of these topics and considering how generally inactive the forum is right now, I didn't believe until I actually checked that each one of these is being taken by a different user.

Yay you, you got it.

---

I was slowly driving in my crappy old car to the field where I would try out for the college team. I was extremely nervous; it was the first time I had tried out for anything. The coach back in high school had just let me on the team because he was my dad. It was also a new experience for me considering the coach wasn't my dad. But, I was there to try out and trying out was what I was gonna do.

I had "dressed to impress", with black sweats and a Josh Hamilton jersey. I saw the coach: he looked to be in his late 50's, and there was a tired, monotone expression in his eyes like he didn't want to be here. I went up to the coach (stumbling over a small rock) and greeted him. I said, "Hello", and he replied with "Hi. You better not suck!" I thought to myself "This is going to be a long year..."

I went over to the water cooler to meet my other candidates. My friend Pete was with me, but we were split up because he was a fielder and I was a pitcher. There were some real big guys, and they all looked like they threw ridiculously fast. I swallowed my doubt, as my name was called. "First, just my luck..." I thought to myself. The coach put a catcher behind the dish, and he told me to hit the target.

---

What should I throw?
A) Throw a fastball right into the catcher's glove
B) Throw a breaking ball and try to dip it in to impress the coach
C) Start crying
D) Run away
E) Pick up a bat and try to hit

Mood: :|
Vitality: 100/100

Coach's Eval: 0/100
Scott's (Not a typo, I really meant Scott) Eval: 0/250

Control: F (50 more to upgrade)
Stamina: C (45 more to upgrade)
Top speed: 87 mph (5 more to upgrade)
Breaking balls:
Level 4 curveball (7 more to upgrade)
Level 1 hard-shuuto (1 more to upgrade)

I threw the fastball straight to the catcher. "No sucking yet!" my coach yelled from the bench he was sitting in. I threw a few more pitches, some curves, some shuutos, some more fastballs, and I think the coach was impressed. I think. The others were mediocre-great, but there was one who really caught my eye: Mike Bush. He was throwing around 96 mph with a curve that moved like crazy. I wanted to approach him, but I had to focus on the tryout.

Next, we had to face some live batting.

What should I do?
A) Work around the batter and drive up the count, never throwing one directly in the zone
B) Throw fastballs right down the heart of the plate and try to blow him away
C) Hit him straight in the crotch
D) Steal the bat from the batter and try your hand at hitting

Another question, can I change some things? For example I would rather have a level 2 cutter and level 2 curve than a 4 curve and 1 H-shuuto.

Okay.

I worked the count full, but then the batter crowded the plate and he walked. The coach mumbled something incomprehensible. I shook it off and struck out the next batter on a nasty cutter.

After that, tryouts were over, and I was expecting a call later on.

What should I do in the meantime?
A) Go on the internet and browse forums
B) Take a shower and then wait impatiently for the phone to ring
C) Take a ridiculously long shower
D) Cry in the fetal position

I went on this schweet forum called MLBPPWorld, considering MLB Power Pros 2008 is my favorite game of all time. Then I checked out my friend, Mac's forum, The Frontier, which everyone should join. I'm not advertising what are you talking about Then I sat at my computer staring at the screen, while watching this awesome-tastic music video. The song ended, and the phone promptly rang.

What should I do?
A) Answer the phone immediately
B) Let it ring for a little while to appear confident
C) Pick up the phone and start crying, begging for mercy
D) Let the answering machine get it

"Hello?" I picked up the phone.
"Hi, is this Peter?" a gruff and raspy voice asked me, I assumed it was the coach's.
"Yes."
"Well, you made the team!"
I silently fist-pumped. "Thank you very much, sir!"
"The first practice is tomorrow."
"I'll be there!"
"Thanks." He hung up.
I danced around the room for a little while, then I went to bed.

Update coming soon!

THE NEXT DAY

I woke up at 7:00 sharp. I brushed my teeth and took a quick shower. Then I had a donut for breakfast. It was unhealthy, but satisfying. My practice was at 10:00, and it ended at 12:00. So, I dicked around on the internet for a little while before getting on some sweatpants and a crappy old t-shirt.

I got into my car and drove away to the field where I was to practice. It was quite the nice field, but big, obviously a pitcher's park. It was about a 5 minute drive from my dorm, which was nice. There were a couple other people there, but it was only 9:52. I had gotten there early to make the coach think I was always for the team.

When everyone else got there, we ran a couple laps around the field to warm up. Then, we played catch to loosen up our arms. Pete, who had also made the team, played catch with me. Then the coach split up the pitchers and the fielders. The pitchers were all to face a batter at the batting cage at the end of practice, "No live batting today, it's only the first practice!" my coach responded when I asked him if we would do some live batting.

"Hey, Pete! Why don't you go first? You were one of the best trying out and I'm sure you'd love to show these guys your stuff!" the coach yelled.
I sheepishly replied "Sure..." and walked up to the mound.
There was a catcher waiting there, and there was a guy with what looked to be a speed gun.
"Today, we're going to test your top speed." the coach said. "Just throw it into the zone as hard as you can."

What should I do?
A) Throw as hard as possible not worrying about accuracy (+10, -5)
B) Tone it down a bit to make sure I hit the catcher's glove (+5, -1)
C) Be "that guy" and throw a cutter/curve (you pick) to impress the coach (+3, -3)
D) Throw it over the backstop (-20)

Mood: :D
Vitality: 97/100

Coach's Eval: 2/100
Scott's (Not a typo, I really meant Scott) Eval: 0/250

Control: F (50/55 more to upgrade)
Stamina: C (45/55 more to upgrade)
Top speed: 87 mph (5/20 more to upgrade)
Breaking balls:
Level 2 curveball (7/10 to upgrade)
Level 2 cutter (1/10 more to upgrade)

Each time you practice a certain thing (like right now we're practicing top speed) the stat you practice will upgrade whether or not you succeed or not, and how well you succeed.

Hmm, looks familiar.
