I don't really like to change attributes. Feels like cheating somehow. I change batting stances just for fun. Although I've been wanting to increase Giambi's PWR, I can't believe he got a C this year.

:P

At least someone feels the same why I do. You work with what you have... it's more challenging that way I feel.

Obviously everyone's going to feel a player or two or ten or twenty have been jaded in the stat department (just read up about how many NFL guys call up the Madden staff every year- hilarious).

I like to edit the speed and arm strength to what a players really is. This has to do with young players, which some of them are fast but have a E or F speed or arm strength when they should be higher. Now batting stats, some I change a little but leave it so they aren't really good because then the CPU or me can train them up and they'll be amazing. Other than that, I just like to change appearances and stances.

I don't change stats or abilities, but I do change names and appearances of the Greats.

I'll do things like editing players and completely change them out for someone else, usually a prospect who didn't make the opening day roster but is on the team currently. In those cases I'll give what I feel are realistic abilities.

In 2007 I edited a few players to increase an ability or two that I felt the devs got blatantly wrong, but not wholesale editing/maxing out players or anything like that. I haven't done it yet in 2008, but I'm assuming some guys that have had breakout years like Josh Hamilton, Edinson Volquez, and Ryan Braun are underrated in the game, and if so I might boost an ability here or there to match what they're really doing. I don't see a problem with that myself, but we've all got our own ways we like to play.

I haven't edited anyone this year because I'm still on vacation. Last year I edited some players that were retired just for the fun of it.

How about being honest and actually DECREASE attributes based on how the real player is currently doing? Hum!

I do, I decreased Fukudome, Corey Patterson and other people I can't think aout now. But, I don't just make players etter, I make players worse also.

I know, I feel that if I just make players better then it is essentially cheating. Now, if I make players worse that are doing worse I feel it evens it out. Corey Patterson is sporting a 2 contact to go with his .191 BA, his power was also lowered can't remember what it is though.

That's good. You're the first person I see in the entire board that does that. The rest of us always talking about making players better. But that's very good. It must take balls to decrease player attributes in this game.
