Five Straight
Nevada Knights(4-6) - 10
Minnesota Vikings(4-6) - 42

In another disappointing game, the Knights lost to the Minnesota Vikings, 42 to 10. Overall, the passing game struggled and the running game wasn't much better. Combine that with a 273-yard rout by opposing running back Adrian Peterson, and you've got yourself a complete and utter blowout. Bright spots in the Knights play included a 64 yard pass from Kaepernick to Joey Galloway, which set up a last second field goal at the end of the first half, and a few 15+ yard runs by Kevin Faulk on the Knights' first drive of the game, one that stalled at the 33 yard line.

Knights Get Trounced
Minnesota Vikings(8-3) - 30
Nevada Knights(4-7) - 6

The Nevada Knights had lost five consecutive games entering Sunday, and thanks to three fumbles, have now lost six in a row.

Once again, the Knights scored first on a John Carney field goal. In the second quarter, the Knights had a great opportunity to take a 10-7 lead, but failed on three straight plays from the 1-yard line and were forced to kick a short 18-yard field goal. By halftime, it was 10-6 Chicago, and a 20-0 shutout in the second half lead to yet another defeat. Colin Kaepernick threw relatively poorly, completing just half his passes, but avoided any picks and managed to rush for 43 yards. Kevin Faulk had a respectable game, despite an abysmal first half, but Clinton Portis, who is expected to see a decreased role in future games, failed to do anything with the 9 carries he received.

The Knights will attempt to turn it around what has turned out to be a relatively disappointing season next Sunday against the Miami Dolphins (2-9).

C. Kaepernick - 13-26, 164 yards, 70.0 passer rating

Rushing
C. Kaepernick - 3 attempts, 43 yards, fumble
K. Faulk - 8 attempts, 33 yards, fumble
C. Portis - 9 attempts, 12 yards

Just curious, but how long are the quarters you're using?

Lance, yes, I probably do, although there was really nothing I could do about the fumbles.

Mac, 12 minutes, with accelerated clock.

Depends if I simulate defense or not. If I do, about 20 to 30 minutes, otherwise usually about 45.

Finally
Nevada Knights(5-7) - 31
Miami Dolphins(2-10) - 28

Scoring Summary:

1st Quarter
None

2nd Quarter
(9:47) 2nd & goal from the 3-yard line. Handoff to Reggie Bush. TOUCHDOWN.
(8:38) 3rd & 7 from the Miami 36. I-formation, two receivers weak side. Colin Kaepernick rolls out, fires a bullet across the middle to a wide open T.J. Houshmandzadeh. TOUCHDOWN.
(6:53) 3rd & 1 from the Nevada 41. Pitch to the strong side to Reggie Bush. TOUCHDOWN.

3rd Quarter
(6:13) John Carney 38-yard field goal is GOOD.
(4:39) 44-yard punt by Brandon Fields is returned 75 yards by Ellis Hobbs for a TOUCHDOWN.
(0:26) 3rd & goal from the Nevada 1-yard line. Daniel Thomas pounds it up the middle for a TOUCHDOWN.
(0:24) Ellis Hobbs returns the ensuing kickoff 102 yards for a TOUCHDOWN.

4th Quarter
(9:49) 2nd & goal. Kevin Faulk receives the pitch to the strong side from Colin Kaepernick for a 1 yard TOUCHDOWN.
(3:33) 1st & goal from the Nevada 5. Davone Bess receives a pass from Chad Henne for a TOUCHDOWN.

The Knights finally snapped their losing streak at six games, beating the also-struggling Miami Dolphins 31 to 28, despite gaining only 232 yards of total offense, compared to Miami's 382, and Colin Kaepernick struggling once again. 14 of the Knights' points can be attributed to player of the game and league-leader in yards-per-kick return Ellis Hobbs, who scored twice in the 3rd quarter: Once on a punt return, and again on a kick return.

We spoke to Ellis after the game:
"I've actually never really been much of a return guy, but I'm really starting to love it. I owe a lot to my blockers, though, without them my returns wouldn't be anything. Anyway, I'm thrilled to have been able to help my team win a game, and that's all that really matters."

The Knights play next week against the 8 and 3 Green Bay Packers, a game that will certainly prove to be a tough one.

How do you do so well on returns? I always have trouble with those.

Way to get the W! :D

For returns, I use DeSean Jackson. He pwns virtually. In real life he gets benched and he has it coming.

Knights Struggle in Passing Game, Lose to Red-Hot Packers
Nevada Knights(5-8) - 10
Green Bay Packers(10-3) - 29

Scoring Summary:

1st Quarter
None

2nd Quarter
(GB) Mason Crosby 32 yard field goal is GOOD (0:55)
(NEV) Colin Kaepernick 6 yard pass to Donald Lee for a TOUCHDOWN (0:12)

3rd Quarter
(GB) James Starks 4 yard run for a TOUCHDOWN (3:07)
(NEV) John Carney 42 yard field goal is GOOD (0:55)

4th Quarter
(GB) James Starks 1 yard run for a TOUCHDOWN (8:13)
(GB) James Starks 9 yard run for a TOUCHDOWN (2:15)
(GB) James Starks 1 yard run for a TOUCHDOWN (2 point conversion failed) (1:04)

The Knights struggled mightily on defense against James Starks who ran in for a career-high four touchdowns. On offense, Colin Kaepernick threw 3 interceptions and was replaced by Terelle Pryor, who threw another on his first and only attempt. Subsequent replacement Mike Kafka completed just 4 of 11 passes for 37 yards. Kevin Faulk was solid in the running game, but Clinton Portis continues to struggle and will most likely continue to lose playing time heading forward.

"I'm a bit taken aback by Kaepernick's performance today," said Rashawn Williams after the game. "He's been exceptional at not turning the ball over, with 8 picks heading into this game. I felt it was the right decision to pull him, because he really didn't look comfortable out there today, which was bound to happen eventually, as he's been sacked 48 times this season, leading the NFL by far. We're just going to have to keep working in the trenches with the o-line and hope to get better protection in the future."

The Knights play next week against the 9-4 Detroit Lions.
