New Character Uppdate. (No, not the one you're thinking of).

Joey Yost walked into the offices in Panpaka Park. He was the Stranglers mascot. He had been promised a the GM job by Mr. Goldman, but that was before Mario White came along.

As a mascot for a team called the Stranglers, he was obviously a Strangler. No mascots get paid very well except for the Phillie Phanatic. Sometimes his clothes would get lost and for weeks he would have to wear his costume. He had been arrested and put on trial six times during the season on suspicion of being the Scranton Strangler. Until the players came looking for their lost mascot.

Miss Kate: Mister Yost! Could you answer some questions for us?

Yost: Not now, I'm in a rush.

Harry: Oh, come on. It's only a few questions,

Joey: Here, why don't you come document our meeting?

He pointed to Jack Swaggert.

Jack: Me?

Joey: Yeah, come on.

Dennis: Why him?

Joey: Because he's my favorite.

They walked in to the biggest office in the stadium. Ever wonder why the positions like owner and General Manager are called the front office? Well, in Panpaka, it literally is the front office.

Goldman: Your late. And what is he doing here?!

Before Joey could open his mouth, Goldman cut him off.


Goldman: Never mind it! Sit down! As you may know, White's at a rehab place down in Texas. So, you two (Sittch and Joey) were appointed GM and Asst. GM respectively. Sittch, I applaud you on your three signings.

Joey: Uh, those were all mine.

Goldman: Oh. THEN WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU SIGN ABREU?! Your paying him to sit on the bench! And what's with Prior?! Your paying him to get injured! And Mussina! You think he can be a number two starter?! THINK AGAIN!!

Joey: But you just congratulated Sittch on the same three signings.

Goldman: I know what I said. Anyway, I think we're good for the offseason.

Yost: That's what you think, but Yu Darvish announced he is coming to the MLB.

Goldman: What did you call me?
Yost: No, it his name.

Goldman: It sounds foreign. Is he foreign? Do we really need another foreigner?

Yost: It doesn't matter where they're from. If they can play baseball, I say go for it.

Goldman: I'll allow you 40,000,000 to spend on him. Not a penny more.

Swaggert: Heh, that's kind of like allowance.

Yost: You're still here?

Swaggert: I've been here.

Yost: Whatever. In the meantime, I've done some scouting and I found two pitchers by the names of, Rocky Racoon and Charlie Brown.

Goldman: They'd better perform well or it's coming out of your paycheck! You'll both be able to make our next meeting, right?

Sittch: Naw, I've got ninja training.

Goldman: Sure, go ahead.

Yost: I might have a funeral to go to.

Goldman: You'll be here if you know what's best for you!! Meeting ajourned.

Heh, Sittch is the owner's pet. I assume Charlie Brown is from Peanuts?

Yup. He's pretty good friends with Sittch. (Only pitcher in 08 that I got the original pitch with).

Joey: Hey, Jack. You ready for our meeting?

Jack: What? Oh, yeah.

Dennis: Why him? Why not me?

Joey: That's an easy one: He's my favorite and you're my least favorite.

Dennis: Oh, come on! I'm everybody's favorite!

Jack: Ha, ha, ha!

TO THE FRONT OFFICE

Goldman: You're late!

Joey: No I'm not! I'm five minutes early!

Goldman: Well you're late for being early!

Sittch walked in 20 minutes late.

Goldman: Hey! Thanks for making it! It means a lot.

Joey: What the-

Goldman: Shut up, Joey. Don't shut up. Tell us your plan for Hugh Delicious.

Joey: It's Yu Darvish, sir.

Goldman: This is getting boring...
Joey: Alright, as you may know, today marks the last day an NPB team can post a player. It is highly likely that the Nippon Ham Fighters will post Yu Darvish. Darvish has won many awards in Japan for his great pitching.

Goldman: Well if he's so great then go for him.

Yost: There's a catch. The MLB will notify every team of the players being posted, after that, there will be a silent auction held for four days to bid on the player. Bud Selig sends the winning bid-not the team that won the bid- and the Japan team will either accept or deny it. If the Japanese team chooses to accept it, a 30 day negotiation process will occur with the team and the player. If they cannot agree on a contract by then, the player will go back to Japan.

Sittch: Just got an E-mail, Darvish has been posted.

Joey: That's great! Jack, did you get all of that?

Jack: No.

Joey: What?!

Jack: Just kidding. I got part of it.

Swaggert. Merluzzi wants a new contract and is threatening to go back to Power Pros Sports.

In the Clubhouse: Tallahassee, Florida

Yost: Attention everyone! With signing of Yu, we need to make some changes around here.

Paul: Like giving me the raise I deserve?

Yost: No. We are lacking money so we need sponsors.

Raul: Oh! Like "MLB, the official league of the Scranton Stranglers"?

Everyone: I like that idea!

Yost: No, it's better! More like "Dunder Mifflin, Official Paper of the Scranton Stranglers"!

Everyone: WHAT?!


Yost: Well, we thought it would be appropriate, with Tallahassee being the HQ of the company and one of the branches located in Scranton.

Paul: You've gotta be kidding me! What's wrong with Lotrimin being our sponsor?!

Yost: They're a foot cream company.

Jagger: I'd just like to poke in here and say: You picked a paper company! Really?! If you were going to pick a paper company, why not Staples?

Yost: Because we're the underdogs! We help and support other underdogs.

Chris: Doesn't having a sponsor mean we get free stuff?

Joey: Here is some free paper!!!

Chris: YES!! I'm all for it!

John: Really?

Chris: Yes.

John: Good, I'm glad you like paper because I've got a business proposal for you:

Paul: John! Let's focus on me here!

Brian: I'm Black Ops! I've gotta call this company to tell them how great I am! Pablo! Get my cell phone!

Pablo: Yes, sir. Here you go, sir.

SECONDS LATER

"Dunder Mifflin, this is Pam"

Brian: Is your refrigerator running Albert in a can? Well you better go catch it out!

Charlie Brown: I think you messed it up. It's "Is your refrigerator running PRINCE Albert in a can."

Lucy:

Charlie: She's back! Make it stop!

Yost: ANYWAY, we're naming our field Spring Training "Dunder Mifflin Coliseum".

Paul: What's wrong with Lotrimin Stadium? Rev Davis would've paid for it!

Ringo: Who is Rev Davis.

Paul's agent released a statement after the meeting.


He then went on to say

Noted is the fact that the source that this "statement" I apparently released is Jon Heyman, who is completely unreliable.

Paul denies everything.

Yu is sad to see that Paul is so upset with his contract. He is willing to give half his salary to him, if he wants it.

Paul believes the money Darvish is willing to give is money given out of pity. He takes offense to this, and declines.

I, however, will gladly accept your paycheck.
