Just curious, but how long is the season limit in this game? Like in '08 it's 10 seasons if I'm not mistaken.

Nope, it's 20 years. Which is much more sensible than 10.

Our First Loss

Image
Image – Leon and Kaneko

Blue Stadium, Sakyō-ku, Kyoto – It’s really too bad. The Knights were handed their first loss, due to an error, by Fukuchi. His error in the first allowed Moriyama to reach, and then subsequently allowed Leon’s two run homerun to be possible. “I’m very sorry about that. I don’t normally make errors.” He said afterwards.

It was still a good game nonetheless, with a final score of 5-3. Knights rookie, Ryouya Miyaki also recorded his first career hit! A double to right-center to start off the 5th inning! “Getting any hit in the NPB is significant, I’m glad it was a double!” he said after the game.

Buffaloes pitcher, Chihiro Kaneko, threw a complete game, giving up 3 runs in the process.

Fujita Throws Another Complete Game

Image – Fernandez’s 2,000th hit!
Image
Image – Fujita and Kurihara

Blue Stadium, Sakyō-ku, Kyoto – Fujita is really showing his stuff, throwing a complete game shutout, and then a complete game to start off his career. Very much like Shima, who imploded near the end of the season, to end up with an ERA over 4.

In this game, Fujita let up his first run, an RBI double to Takeya Nakamura in the top of the 1st. He let up another run in that inning too, an RBI double to Fernandez as well, to make the score 2-0. And with that hit, Fernandez collected his 2,000th career hit, so congratulations to him!

The Knights would immediately come back from the 2 run deficit. In the bottom of the 1st, they would score 3 times to take the only lead they would need in the entire game. Kanazawa got a sacrifice fly to center, and then right after him, Kurihara hit a 2-run homerun to take the lead! And that would be that.

Whoa! In the first picture there the guy got flowers. Is that a tradition in Japan, or something?

Yeah! Whenever someone reaches a milestone, they get a bouquet of flowers. It's pretty cool, actually.

Matsunaga Walks Off!

Image
Image - Tsuyoshi Matsunaga

Blue Stadium, Sakyō-ku, Kyoto – What a game yesterday’s was! The Knights win with a walkoff in extra innings, thanks to a single by Matsunaga to drive in Shigeno who had a double earlier in the inning. “It was great. It was my second career walkoff, but it was just as exciting as the first!” he said after the game. In what was otherwise a forgettable game, Matsunaga showed that he has more than just speed.

On the other side of the ball, Eagles pitcher, Darrell Rasner threw 5 innings of no-hit ball, letting up a walk, “I felt good, but in the 6th, I lost it.” He said briefly after the game. The first to get a hit was Shimozono, who isn’t having nearly as good of a start as last year, batting only .233 at the end of the game.

Hopefully he’ll be able to bring it up!

Knights Win By a Hair

Image – Hiyama and Matsunaga

Blue Stadium, Sakyō-ku, Kyoto – In what was an incredibly close game, the Knights emerged as the victor in last night’s 3-1 game against the Marines. The game was won mostly in part thanks to Tsuyoshi Matsunaga, who drove in all 3 of the runs the Knights got! “I was on my game today. I’m really feeling good right now!” he said after the game. Though, he wouldn’t have gotten the winning 2 RBI’s if it weren’t for Iguchi’s poor attempt to get to the ball (which would’ve been the 3rd out of the inning), Marines manager, Norifumi Nishimura, spoke after the game, saying that Iguchi will be taken out of the line up, and they will be calling someone up from the 2nd string team come the end of the week.

Also, Ataru Hiyama went the distance, throwing a complete game, letting up only 1 run, and 6 hits, while striking out 3!

Yeah, it takes about 40 minutes to play, and then another 20 or so to write up the summary (if I want to do it well)

But it's fun, so I don't mind it that much!

Great work again, though the Knights could use the power-hitting catcher I made. ;)
