Mine is pretty good too. The short story I wrote for English (the one based on Success Mode) well, I made it waaay too obvious that it was about Success so anyone who had even heard of the game could see right through it. And other then saying "shut up" and getting sent to the office, I've stayed out of trouble.

I've given up on trying to have a life this school year, way too many projects, the sad part is they're all for the same class. Once other classes start giving homework, I'll have to choose which classes I want to pass more.

I might post the story. I really don't like it that much, but since you guys asked, I'll get it up when I can.

Alright here you guys go. I've written better, but here it is.

Short Story
It's like a hangover. A really bad one. You feel sick to your stomach, you can't sleep. My favorite team, the Scranton Stranglers had just come so close to winning and lost. They'd gotten to the NLCS and lost. I'm a sports fan. A huge sports fan. Basketball, baseball, football, you name it. Especially baseball. I was a solid player in middle school, then good in high school, and GREAT in college. Or should I say Junior College? I already had a slim chance of making the majors going to a junior college and all, but then my chances got even slimmer when my knee practically was shattered to pieces. The doctors called it a "bomb knee". That is why I walk like an old man at 23 years old. I put my baseball career when my mother, God bless her, died three weeks after my graduation, and here I am now.
My dad died when I was still an infant. Apparently I was named after him. Robert. Robert Green. When my mom died she left me and my sister everything. (My sister, an English teacher, would tell me it is "My sister and I". I never did good in English anyway. There I go again). My mother left me something special though. She left me an autographed baseball. Three days later it was stolen from me and they couldn't catch the thief. By this time I was working at a fledgling paper company in Scranton.
I walked in to work a little late this morning. My colleagues greeted me, my boss glared at me. My boss hates me; he hates me with a burning passion. I don't know why, he just does. The day dragged on like it usually does. It consists of: me memorizing stats from sports games, me procrastinating, and me getting all of my work done before quitting time. Sometimes I amaze myself. This would be one of those times.
I always ride my bike home because I don't own a car, but halfway through my bike ride I saw something peculiar outside of the Stranglers practice facility. A sign read, "Open Tryouts".
"What is all this?" I asked.
"Didn't you read the sign?" a coach said.
"Well yes, but why are you holding a tryout?" I asked.
"After the bad loss we're rebuilding the team."
"You think you can make a team out of these guys?" I said amused as a looked around at mostly old, washed up Minor League and college players.
"Kid, why don't you go see for yourself and stop wasting my time?" the coach snapped back.
It was decision time. I could either pick up my bike and go home, or continue my dream. In the end I decided "What the heck?" and went in.
The tryout was easy. I blew away the competition. Well there was ONE other guy I could think of. His name was Marvin Lesman. Our only difference was he was way faster than me, and I was, and always will be, a better hitter. We became fast friends. He is a little geeky, but I like him. After the tryout was over I got my bike and got ready to get a rejection letter. That was one the manger, the head coach of the whole team, came running up to me.
"Whoa! Wait up!" he called after me.
"Sir, I'm sorry I wasted your time." I said as my heart sank.
"Wasted my time?! You're kidding! You were great!"
"I know you're just going to say "But your knee is hurt so we don't want you." It's okay. Really, I understand." I said.
"No, that's exactly what I'm not going to say. I'm going to give you a minor league contract!" He said.
All I heard was "Blah, blah, blah Minor League contract!"
"Wait. What?" I said "Could you repeat that for me?"
"How many times do I have to say it kid? I'm giving you a minor league contract!"
This time I heard him loud and clear. I was ecstatic! Only two players made the team. Me and Marvin! Amazing!
The next morning I said my goodbyes. I was going to play for a double A team in Boise, Idaho called the Green Apples.
"Well boss. I guess this is it." I said tearfully to my horrible boss.
"Yeah! I guess it is! Whoo hoo!" he replied tearfully. Those were tears of joy.
"Well I'll be seeing you." I said walking away.
"Yeah hopefully not!" he said.
"Anything else you need to get off your chest? Like maybe an "I'm sorry Robert?" I asked.
"Just get out of here Green!"
He didn't have to ask me twice.
In AA my life was pretty much the same as it was back in Scranton with pay increased a little, baseball, and my boss doesn't hate me. I met my teammates and they seemed okay. There's a 26 year old guy named Tom. He's the oldest player on the team and he isn't nice. The second guy was named Frank. He's really nice and likes eating sea food. I learned that Marvin had made the team to which was really cool. The last person we met came in the next week.
"Hey chief, look at the new guy!" Marvin told me.
"Let's go meet him." I suggested.
We met him. His name was Sittch and he was the number one pick in the draft last year. He is going to be tough competition.
Over the next few months I trained vigorously, sweat always pouring down my face. Most of the time I couldn't walk because my knee hurt so badly. I trained and I trained. Our team was winning most of its games and we were well on our way to the AA championship game. All of the guys were working really hard. I loved where I lived. I only had 100 dollars a month left over, but I got by. I was soon promoted to Triple A with Marvin and Sittch. I was one step closer.
"Chief, we got promoted to Triple A!" Marvin said like I hadn't already noticed.
"We're One step closer to living the dream!" I replied.
"Enough talk!" Sittch said, "Let's meet our new teammates!"
"Hey welcome to the team. I'm Terry." an older African-American man said.
"Oh, man. You're Terry, the major league baseball player?" Marvin asked amazed.
"Former major leaguer." Terry corrected. "Hopefully I'll get back someday."
"Hi I'm Joey." A much shorter, skinnier white guy said. "You could say I'm the pen man of the team."
"I'm guessing that has something to do with the bullpen." I assumed
"Nope," he corrected, "I'm a poet. I play shortstop."
He was somewhat of a weirdo, but then again, so were Marvin and Sittch.
Triple A sort of breezed by. My new team, the St. Louis Golden Apples, were winning games. We weren't nearly as good as the Sharks. Their star player was Gilgamesh Green. Gil for short. He was only 21 and he had been in Triple A way before me. Right in the middle of the season something extraordinary happened. The GM for the Galaxy Sharks approached me when I was out for a run. His name was Robert, and he had a lot of interest in me. He took me back to his luxurious mansion.
"Robert, why don't you come play for me with the Galaxy Sharks?" He asked sounding desperate.
"I'm happy where I am now thank you." I said as I turned to leave.
"Either way, I have something very important to tell you." he said sounding dead serious.
I stopped.
"There really is no other way to tell you this, but I'm your father." he said.
"WHAT?! Yeah right! This sounds like Darth Vader trying to bring me to the dark side! Nice try!" I said.
"It's true," He said persistently. "and I can prove it."
"Oh yeah? How?"
He pulled out an autographed baseball. The one from my mother.
"Holy heck! How in the world did you get that?!" I asked ready charge towards him or away form him any second.
"It was rightfully mine form the beginning." he said very annoyingly. "Signed by Willy Legend. You want it? Here you go." he tossed me the ball.
"Now," he said "Why don't you come play for the Sharks?"
"Dude, my dead dad just shows up out of nowhere let me think about it, alright?" I snapped.
"I understand. Let's start with a game of catch."
Whatever was all I could say.
One game before we were scheduled to play the championship game, Gil came to me.
"Rob, this is going to be weird," he said.
"Things can't get much weirder." I interrupted.
"Well I'm your half brother." he said bluntly "How weird is that?" he asked.
"I admit that's very weird." I said. "Now I'm mad at Dad for not telling me."
"If he told you all that you might have had a heart attack." he said.
He was probably right. Gil got a broken ankle in that game and there was no chance of him playing in the championship.
The next few weeks were all a blur. Sittch left the team, Gil got cut from the Sharks, Sittch joined the Sharks after announcing he was a spy for them, we beat him in the Triple A championship, and I got promoted all in one. The other guys are still working hard at their dreams hopefully they will make it too someday. I've learned to forgive my dad. He left because he was in deep debt. He always sent money to mom to support my sister and I so it was okay. Now I'm pursuing my dreams my dreams in the majors, and I have learned that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger (or stranger either one)!

Heh, very nice.

I must resist the strong urge to proofread. I swear, I'm going to turn into an English teacher, whether I like it or not...

Yeah, that's the rough draft I copied and pasted so a lot of errors. I love writing even with grammar mistakes.

A kid in my grade got expelled today...

In study hall today my friend and I listened to theme songs while we worked on a project. :)

Expulsion huh? For what?

I guess I don't think I posted about this, but 2 kids at our school died in a car crash last year. One of the kids was on the football team, so they dedicated the season to him. Now they're one win away from the state championship. Here's the news story if you want to read about it. It's pretty sad. :(
