Over and Done
Melonheads fight hard, but lose 5-3
In a game filled with emotion, the Melonheads went down by a score of 5 to 3. The scoring recap follows.

Top of the 3rd inning
- With one out, Amir Khan a double and is bunted to third by starting pitcher Kenny Kawaguchi. He scores on an Angela Delvecchio single.
- Pete Wheeler drives the first pitch of the at-bat from Cheeses pitcher Jay Green a whopping 462 feet into right-center field. Melonheads take a 3-0 lead.

Bottom of the 3rd inning
- Cheeses Julie Dunkel leads off with a single, steals second on the first pitch to Jay Green.
- Back-to-back strikeouts to Jay Green and Chad Kopel make it two outs with a runner on second.
- Jane Davis hits a single to drive in Julie Dunkel. Score is 3-1, Melonheads.
- Davy Marion takes a double to left-center, moving Jane Davis to third. Runners on second and third, two outs.
- Zenon Estrada hits the first pitch he sees for a ground-rule double over the center field fence, driving in Davis and Marion in the process. Score is tied at 3. Kenny Kawaguchi is replaced with Amir Khan.

Wow. Tony Delvecchio, who was in the last place as late as the opening game of the semi-finals, took the point victory. Pablo Sanchez, who dominated throughout the entire season and most of the playoffs, makes costly mistakes towards the end that cost both him and his team. Kiesha Phillips, who steadily remained between 2nd and 4th for most of the season, dropped off in the championship and loses by a solid margin.

Well, there you go. I'm not making any promises, but this will likely pick back up again for another season. Not for a while, but eventually. So, until then, congratulations to lance and Tony, and I'll see you here next time.

Thanks everyone. In the meantime, expect some Nevada Knights updates (time permitting, that is). With basketball picking back up I'm a little busier than I was earlier in the school year, and playing with 12 minute quarters takes a pretty long time.
