I have a possible new layout for the Main Page.

I'll close the poll if/when we adopt this or another main page.

Why even put this to a poll? New one is obviously way better. Nice job on it.

Couple minor suggestions though to make it just a touch better. For the Success Mode links, split Events into 2 links. Random Events and Key Events and maybe add another link for girls/dating.

Also for the Custom players section. I love how you've divided it into Pitchers/Fielders for PS2 and Wii. I suggest taking that 1 step further and splitting Fielders into Infielders and Outfielders. I don't even bother with the forum post atm because there's no separation between PS2 and Wii, and if I'm looking for an Infielder or whatever I have to scan through a million posts in a single thread. This should alleviate that.

edit: After thinking about it a bit more, I think it's best to leave the categories for Fielders and Pitchers like it is, but inside those categories there would be sub-categories for every position. (Starting pitcher, reliever, closer, 1st base, 2nd base, etc....)

I agree with Aabra... why ask? The new page is way better.

Protocol is usually to gain a voted approval from the rest of the folks who work on the wiki before going ahead. I had posted it on the main talk page, but I didn't think it was getting the necessary attention, hence the poll.

I will do the replacement when I come off campus and add the features Aabra suggested, however, separating OF from IF becomes a hassle as there are numerous players who are able to play multiple positions (3B or LF/RF), and I don't want to create the need to set up cross references.

If DS and I can figure out what's up with the restricted posting (right now we're using a workaround that requires us to approve users by hand, it's a low priority item though), forum users should use the same/similar usernames for both, which will allow wiki users to link their characters to their Personal User Page to contain links to all their characters as well (they can maintain this themselves) so people who like a character that's made by you can "look you up" and find others by you (and make suggestions, comments).

We're really starting to create an outstanding site here. Keep it up and keep posting! Feel free to start copying over the information here in the forum over, as it will make it much easier to search through.

I'm researching a way to integrate the wiki and the forum a little bit more, including having forum accounts also be wiki accounts, but the documentation is rather bad as I don't know if it's for phpBB2 or phpBB3.
