Are we absolutely positive that Wii and PS2 passwords don't go together?

This may be a little high-tech, but how are the passwords configured?

The passwords seem to follow a pattern based on the entire attributes of the character. To test this theory, one would have to make two characters almost exactly alike, and compare the passwords. Make a pitcher with the same name, skin color, throwing motion, etc. Give him the same pitches with the same power, speed, etc. Try to get the same blue/green abilities. Once the characters are saved, you can compare to see what passcodes are similar and dissimilar.

I noticed this when rooshoo on the Gamefaqs boards posted his character using text. Later he took a photo, and there were obvious differences between the text he inputted and his photo, but the first 4-5 lines were almost exactly the same, with a few characters transposed, and also there were a few extra areas filled in that weren't there in the original post.

That's what I was thinking. How else would the password produce a character without any online capabilities?

It should also be tested on two different Wii's. Let's make it easy:
My proposal we both do the same exact character:
Starting Pitcher - last (black) skin tone, R/R, Overhead 1 Delivery, Name (Johnny Test), Saved Name (Test), Manual upgrades, Favorite Team - Nationals (keeping it neutral).

Stats - 150 (exact) control and stamina, 85 top speed, lvl 1 changeup, lvl 2 vertical slider

win every game, Dr. K glove, accelerator soles, no bat - abilities - fastball life, regular sense, starter, good pace, spin, poise (that's it), dr. K

Sell all items but equipment at the end.

Exactly lvl 3 bookworm, lvl 1 ladies' man, and lvl 3 moneyman. Once reach level, don't date/work/study (sell mind-training necklace).

Fielding/Arm Strength/Run Speed/Error Resistance - all 5
Power and Contact - 2

birthday - 1/1
age 19
0 years in majors
Only one position - pitcher
First color option for glove and bat color. No facial hair, hair, accessories, wristbands, etc.

Is there anything else I missed?

I think that this player should be very easy to make.
Make sure the player starts off without anything special.
I tried to make him easy, but good enough to complete the "journey."

If you think he should be changed, go right ahead and speak up.
This experiment would be best if done by 2 PS2 users and 2 Wii Users.

Here's hoping that the makers of MLB Power Pros slacked off and didn't spend too much time on the password portions. :P

My hopes: PS2 and Wii passwords have same amount of characters. Each PS2 character corresponds directly with a Wii character. Imagine the possibilites!

Or imagine you made a good character but wished you had the Slugger ability.... if you can find the corresponding passcode to that ability, you could add it to your password?

Author:  J-Gao [ Mon Feb 11, 2008 9:58 pm ]

but that might be too complicated - how do you know which part of the code it corresponds to?

Or where to insert it?

I propose that we make a stickied post for this experiment.

Post pictures of all your passwords and all your stats (including batting and fielding for pitchers and pitching for hitters - just in case). Make sure to specify between Wii and PS2.

A PS2 player is going to have to help get the rest of the stats up. Where can you find the name (not saved name) of a player?

I think adding one thing would probably have to change something else in the code so it would be very hard to find out how to add something to give your character.
