I think the strategy I use is mostly the same as the one in rsoochoo's guide posted on the GameSpot/GameFAQ forums. (You post there too right? I think I've seen your name) Since I tend to date and work somewhat my pitchers don't have as high stamina/control as his but the rest is basically the same. Oh yeah, I haven't yet tried Dad's training since I found out about that recently.

You're right about Taylor though. I misjudged him when I said decent. It turns out he's my best guy when I sim Season Mode, despite having lesser stats. He usually has twice as many CG and shutouts than Dasd despite only a 4 difference in stamina...Maybe there's a threshold at stamina 185 or so? Is it the knuckler? Or it could be one of the green abilities - Taylor has Power P, Dasd doesn't; I'm still trying to figure it out. (edit: overlooked Battler.)

As for password compatibility, just another artifact of Konami asserting control at the users' expense. Who knows? Maybe 2kSports or some password hacker will release a converter eventually.

I tried that, (soohoo's guide - it's also in the Wiki), but results were far lesser.

Has anyone had any good results from using my character? I'd like to see him do well

which is save and gamble?

yep. just save and gamble every turn, except get a good skills guy with pr sense. To start out study on the first 4 turns getting a question the first 3 times, the fourth time it doesn't really matter and it's a pain to reload because you have yellow vitality. After that, do the strength training. New Year's you visit parents and gain vitality. Do strength training again. Sleep on next turn for 30 some strength points or you can do annie's homework if you have it already. Only do strength training until you get the gambler's ring. I follow this routine for every one of my characters.

Some differences are is that I don't care about moneyman level at all. I just do enough work to buy the presents for annie. I always get the tutor job after first year exams by getting level 2 bookworm. 2 hw from annie plus 4 study sessions is good enough. I don't date on the 1st valentine's day as I could do fungo drills and increase clutch hit/vs lefty/base running/stealing/etc and nothing bad happens if I don't. I've also found that if you get sarah's photo, you can give it to annie on christmas and not suffer any devastating consequences, thus saving you $200.

Only time I bother with equipment is at the end when I sell everything for the mizzoto mitt pro +1 fld +1 e res. falcon spikes +2 run spd. on fire arch +5 pwr.
