I know pretty much everyone has MLBPP 2008 and, I have it as well. But I have decided to go back to 2007 because I enjoy playing that version more than I do '08. So, My Hawaii Typhoons log, that I started in 2008 but never got off the ground will be moving to here. I have made some "adjustments" to the roster already. Namely I have cut several players I don't intend to use to make room for several success players I created for this team. I promise I did not go overboard making these players.
I made three starting pitchers and one SS. I wanted to be somewhat realistic when I made my pitchers so, I did some game research. The average *starter* in '07, between the ages of 18-22 have the following stat line: Top speed 92, Stamina B-146, Control D-130. Keeping those numbers in mind I made one starter above the average, one right on average and one below average, just to keep things eve. I don't think I went to crazy with my SS either; maybe I made him a little to good, but nothing outrageous.
I'm also not purchasing any practice upgrades during year 1. I learned from my Pelicans log that I just isn't worth buying level 1 upgrades, it's better to save points and buy level 2 or 3 down the line. Also, since you get better players in expansion mode for '07, it's not a big deal to wait.

The Typhoons will be playing in the AL West and the Las Vegas High Rollers will be in the NL west. Houston moved to the AL central.
Here is my roster:

Are all of the players (except for the ones denoted with * or #) just the default arrange-team gray-bar roster? If so, that's quite a lucky draw; I don't think I've ever seen anyone with an A or B rating on any arrange team or in any draft.

Yes, the rest of the players were all grey bar. And I did get very lucky with how good they are.

Wow.

Also, I don't think you went overboard with any of the Success players, though the SS Keoka is close, especially if he has any big-time blue abilities.

Typhoons call up Piersoll
Baltimore- The Hawaii Typhoons have sent struggling reliever James Hiatt to AAA Kona and have called up Adam Piersoll to take his place in the pen.
Typhoons manager Scott0530 stated the club wants to be patient with their young talent, but Hiatt's 9 earned runs in just 3.2IP this season, 22.1 ERA, is just to much for the club to be patient with.
Piersoll will join the club for their next game in Baltimore.

Hawaii Typhoons (Wright 1-1, 4.30) @ Minnesota Twins (Cameron 0-1, 9.00) 4/23

Minneapolis- The Typhoons came dangerously close to blowing five run leads on consecutive nights. But thanks to some extra innings heroics, Hawaii managed to just hang on.
Jose Valencia led the game off with a double, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on a Lajos Keoka ground out.
The Typhoons went to work in the second getting four runs. An RBI single from Luke Bumstead, a 2RBI double from Keoka and an RBI single from Kyle Pickler.
The Twins began to chip away in the home half of the second getting an RBI single from Nick Punto
Keoka would have to leave the game in the fifth after hurting his hand trying to steal second.
Torri Hunter and Rondell White added RBI singles in the sixth and Minnesota caught all the way up in the seventh. With Luis Castillo aboard, Joe Mauer drove him in with a double while Michael Cuddyer and Morneau added RBI singles to tie the game at 5.
After holding the Typhoons down over five innings in relief of Cameron, Hawaii finally broke through in the tenth. Willey Beattie doubled and Kyle Pickler drove him in with an RBI single.
Morneau and Hunter both singled with two outs in the home half of the tenth but, Francisco Rosario induced a double play to end the game.

Baltimore Orioles (Bedard 0-4 4.61) VS. Hawaii Typhoons (Gordon 4-0 1.21) 5/11

Honolulu- James Gordon had four wins coming into tonight's game against Baltimore, and certainly should have more. Gordon's ERA of 1.21 beginning play last night is second best in the majors, but, it seems like when he starts, the Typhoons offence gets brain lock. And it looked as though that was going to happen again.
Gordon and Bedard locked in a scoreless pitcher's duel till Hernandez led off the Baltimore 7th with a solo HR. Tiring, Gordon managed to just sneak out of the inning without allowing any other damage.
But the Typhoon bats would not allow Gordon to not have a fighting chance at the win. Lajo Keoka led off the home half of the seventh with a solo homerun and Jack Gettis followed three batters latter with a loud RBI double.
The Typhoons added two more in the eighth. After Jose Valencia singled and stole second, Keoka drove him in with an RBI single. Two batters later, Brian Kelton added an RBI single as well.
With Francisco Rosario unavailable, Ed Vosberg picked up the save closing out the ninth.

Man...Matt Belisle. I'm the Reds in my 2007 season and he was my 5th starter year one. Then he wanted 2400 and I stupidly resigned him for one season as I upgraded to All Star level difficulty...he's like a mop up man now making 2400...yuck.
